Because the characters in the works are the children of the writer. No parent will kill their child without pain in the heart. And those who still managed to do it got a flat and unemotional character death scene.

yaaa, fuck i cried like a baby when Gomra and Gelfree were killed but this most recent one I panned out left me as a mess.

The most painful thing ever is planning the deaths of characters who finished their story. Idk why it's more heartwrenching to write a character dying of old age than being shot, for example. It's a good way to let your character rest but it's the kind that makes me cry more.

Usually i avoid that feeling by creating random characters without much development and kill them instead of the main characters I've grown attached to, whose death i try to avoid unless it's really necessary for the story. I had this story when i had immortal Twilight suffer alone as she missed her friends now long dead and decided to commit die herself and i was like....a bit too emotional writing that. Given i was in a bit of a period when i longed for death myself that's why i wrote that fic so maybe that git me feely but also sad making Twilight suffer like that....despite my sadistic instincts that keep rearing their ugly head. Also you better not be planning to do what i think you're planning to do I'm warning ya mister don't you freaking dare. You've killed far too many characters I've been attached to so don't you fuckin dare. Don't dare kill Alex, nor Luna especially not luna, nor Gaurt (like for fuck sake she's pregnant) and not Twilight she's literally the Main character she should have protection, NOR THE BABIES like fr that's too far. Other people? I don't give a flying duck go ahead and do genocide for all i care.
