"No, we aren't racist imperialist colonizers. But their culture needs to change to our New Yorker/Californian standards" -progressive racist imperialist colonizer · 4:20pm Feb 26th, 2023

And is there a reason why Hispanics are running from the democrats (Hell, even democrats are trying distance themselves away from the usage of "latinx" in their empty promises), either becoming independent, libertarian, or republican? Oh and given what happened during the Hogwarts Legacy shitfest, I'm sure this won't backfire and cause a massive backlash towards the activists and the people they're championing.

I can't wait for the word Latinx to die in a fire. I'm not Hispanic so I don't have a horse in this race the same way Hispanics do. But I've seen that video days ago and I'm glad I didn't face palm so hard as to take my head off. But, I do have a horse in the transgender race due to me being a transwoman. I swear people label everything transphobic these days. Is that going to be more of a trend going forward? "You [don't] like this? Transphobic!" I mean, with Hogwarts Legacy, people are already being called transphobic over playing a video game so I don't exactly have much faith at all that things won't get even more stupid. And while we're on the Democrats, I refuse to call myself one anymore and I sure as hell don't have plans to vote for anymore Democratic presidents for who knows how long. And no that doesn't mean I became rightwing or a Republican.

Had to stop myself form ranting even more. Please continue to call this out even if on a very small platform.

I found this post by accident; I was using Google to search fimfiction for a blog post I wrote years ago about a fiction editor for the New Yorker. (This post was the top hit for the search {site:fimfiction.net "new yorker" fiction}.)

I wanted to thank you for speaking up. Not that it matters to me much whether people use Latinx (although I'd rather they write it Latin-x, so it wasn't introducing an entirely new spelling-and-pronunciation pattern in a language already overloaded with idiosyncratic pronunciations). But it seems to me the trans movement has been hijacked by extremists who are actually acting against transgender interests, and the non-extremist trans folk, like most of the trans people I know, aren't speaking up, are letting crazy people speak for them.

Like, the rhetoric that is supposedly pro-trans is actually anti-sex and anti-gender. Most trans people want to be a woman, or want to be a man; yet the trans movement seems aimed at destroying the concept of gender--the very thing that's so important to trans people! This business of eliminating male and female pronouns, for instance, doesn't help anyone who's actually trans; it's only for people who want to be intersex or genderless.

(It confuses me that the Social Justice movement wants to eliminate gender distinctions, but amplify race distinctions. I suspect this is a historical accident, in that many prominent feminists, from Simone de Beauvoir to Judith Butler, were post-modernists wrt gender, while the SJ movement admires black leaders who were race-essentialists and separatists like Malcom X.)

Or, like, the explanation most actual trans people give of their life experience is that they felt very early in life like their gender didn't match their sex, regardless of being conditioned as their birth sex.  This is like the appeal made by the gay rights movement--that sexual orientation is set at birth, and can't be changed, so people should have the right to be "who they really are".  Yet trans activists are tied to the SJ ideology which says that there is no "who they really are", because gender has no genetic component and is entirely culturally conditioned.  This completely undermines the claim to have a right to be "who they are".  It doesn't make any sense to say, "It's super-important to allow people to choose whether to be a man or a woman, even though there's no difference between men and women."  There are two possible bases for trans rights: either gender has a large genetic component, so a person has a right to their true gender; or gender is an arbitrary choice, and individuals should have the right to choose.  Trans activists undermine both positions.

Or like trans activism wrt trans-female athletes. Most Americans believe trans-women who transitioned after puberty shouldn't be allowed to play on female teams in some competitive sports, and the number who believe that keeps going up. This is the opposite of effective activism. It's because of the arrogant way trans activists go about this: not by proving that they're nice people like everyone else (the key tactic in the gay rights movement), nor by engaging in discussion and explaining their case, nor by focusing on important daily-life issues facing all trans people, but by focusing on their most-controversial demands, demanding submission without debate, and threatening anyone who speaks out against them. This is doing terrible harm to the trans cause, and I'd say to the entire Social Justice movement.

A compromise might be to construct equitable sex-neutral classes, analogous to weight classes in wrestling. But no trans activist has even suggested this.

What really triggered me was when I saw the Twitter response to "J.K. Rowling Writes about Her Reasons for Speaking out on Sex and Gender Issues." I began reading her post. What I read was polite, respectful, and thoughtful. To be honest, I got bored and skipped to the end, then read the Twitter responses instead, which were much more-interesting.

They were more-interesting because they were such a vile display of raw, mindless hatred and malice.  I scrolled through at least a hundred.  Death threats, creative insults, uncreative insults, moral condemnations, descriptions of what they'd do to her if they got the chance. Not one person responded to what she wrote. It was like she was a Jew complaining to the guards in a concentration camp.  And not one trans person took any of them to task for the way they spoke. Regardless of what you think, it's not right to express it that way, to someone who's speaking sincerely, earnestly, & politely.  If no trans people speak up to defend free speech, it looks to everyone else like all trans people hate free speech.

I have a conspiracy theory, which I don't really believe, but it's worth considering: that this hijacking occurs throughout the branches of Social Justice movement, because the people pulling the strings, the people with the theories and the power and the money, are not trans, gay, or POC, but Marxists. So their strategy is to fund or engage in activism for a cause in a way that is deliberately counter-productive and that will only make the injustices worse, so as to make a bloody Marxist revolution more-feasible.

This is clearly the case in the Black Lives Matter movement, which was founded entirely by Marxists, and funded by a huge charitable foundation, which is probably, like most charitable foundations, controlled by Ivy League graduates.  It condemns any inquiries  into the reasons why blacks are more-likely to be shot by police than whites, despite the fact that police are no more-likely to shoot a black suspect than a white suspect.  This guarantees that nothing they do can make things better.  Then they call for defunding the police, which is just a bonus for them when the revolution comes.  BLM must know that defunding the police makes things worse mainly for the people they claim to represent.  Their goal isn't to save black lives; it's to pile up black corpses and incite racial hatred and disorder.

The Social Justice movement is unique among progressive movements in being funded mainly by trust funds and corporate sponsors.  American charitable foundations distribute about $400 billion per year to various causes, and more than half of the programs funded last year by 9 of the 10 largest foundations were Social Justice causes.  This is much more money than the entire American middle and lower class can afford to give to grass-roots-funded organizations. The funding by corporate sponsors appears to be due to the fact that "impact investing" mutual funds, which have become a huge sector of the finance industry, rely on corporate "sustainability and diversity" ratings made by organizations composed entirely of activists. Getting a poor diversity rating leads to an automatic massive sell-off of their stock.

But this conspiracy theory is unnecessary. Activist professionals, activist bureaucrats, have always been incentivized to make things worse rather than better. I first noticed this in the environmental movement. When the first warnings about climate change began, the environmental movement doubled down on its anti-nuclear-power position. If not for them, Europe and America would have nuclear power now, and climate change wouldn't be a hot political issue. But the Sierra Club, and other environmental organizations, found climate change extremely profitable.

I meant to reply to this sooner, but here I am now. The crazy activists have truly ruined a lot of thins that should be good. They’re seemingly everywhere that isn’t a specifically rightwing space. These radicals will drive people like me out because I’m not allowed to have any difference of opinion with transgender topics. I never wanted terms like birthing person or bonus hole to exist unironically. Yet somehow calling a mother a birthing person is supposedly less offensive than just calling her a mother.

These people spent decades fighting for women’s rights and now they’ll throw any woman under the bus that are not quite on board with everything for transgender people. Like attacking a women’s shelter that didn’t allow in a transwoman. Transphobic or not, the attacks were unfair to the rest of the women inside who had no choice in that decision.

There’s a lesbian dating app called Her. If you put in your bio that you don’t want to date transgender women, that will probably get you banned. Not allowed to have certain preferences it seems. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s men on there who are very masculine looking, big beard and all, but say they’re women as to be allowed on the platform.

Rather disturbing how the radicals want to completely destroy gender except when it benefits them. If men and women were truly the same, why would I ever need to transition in the first place? If this is the case and women have it so bad, why not just become men? All you have to do is say what you are and bam, that magically makes you that thing. Don’t call this out, oh no, can’t challenge those thoughts. I swear this movement only works when they can’t be questioned, otherwise the whole thing falls apart.

Rowling believes in much of what these far left activists do. The only real difference is her stance on transgender people, otherwise these people worshipped her prior to her transgender views. And now they want to unperson her. Have her works in a pop culture museum, yet hide her name. They’ll claim buying Hogwarts Legacy is literally killing transgender people. And the game sold so well that it’s still out selling some new releases. People don’t like moral busybodies telling them what we can and can’t do.

I think you’re right, that it’s often people who are not even part of the groups they claim to defend so much. BLM probably started out as a good movement before it got hijacked by narcissists who saw an easy means to get money and power. You can’t say anything bad about the group at all without being deemed racist. BLM acts like they hold the monopoly on black rights. I don’t see BLM supporters as really caring about black people, I see them as using black people as a shield to further their own ends.

I will continue to speak out. I’ll make a lot of enemies, people will hate me, I’ll get kicked and banned from more spaces. But this nightmare world in which the far left rules is something I don’t want to be stuck in for the rest of my life. I know how fake they are. They have no empathy for anyone who breaks any of their many rules for any reason, even if autistic like me. There’s never ever a valid excuse in their minds. And they’ll cancel you for stuff you said online when you were a dumb teenager. And there’s no forgiveness. Saying sorry is an admission of guilt to them.

I’m so sick of this cultural war. I want to keep liking what I like. And as a transwoman into women, I’m a translesbian. Let me have my sexy female characters without trying to destroy the male gaze and acting like this is some big victory against chuds when this also denies women the pleasure of such things.
