It actually gave me a decent first impression when I watched the first 2 (or 3 can't remember) seasons.
It's not-sokka character Callum only rubbed me wrong because I couldn't get sokka from avatar out of my head.
It wasn't incredible, but it was worth watching imo.
Edit: Sadly... at the time of writing this... I hear season 4 did not go so well...
