    Cape Town Vacation

Hey guys, so I just want to address that my family and I will be riding out tonight to Cape Town for a two-week vacation. I’m just going to put this out that I have never been to Cape Town before so I don’t know what to expect apart from the sea and the sandy beaches and the weather. Hopefully this will be a great vacation because I am both excited and nervous.

Feeling dissatisfied with life · 3:38pm Feb 7th, 2023

I don’t know what to do. I have so much time on my hands yet everything just feels empty. What do I do?

Pick up a few hobbies, maybe do something you wouldn't normally do, meditate, try some new food or go to a new restaurant

I actually took up an interest in Tarot Cards and am getting pretty good, I also recently tried squid ink pasta that I ordered off of Amazon.

Just branch out, try something new, something you wouldn't normally do

I struggle with depression among other issues so I know how that goes. I keep myself busy with writing, art, music, and doing other creative stuff. I also study and research a bunch of stuff/ concentrate on learning new things.

Over the years I have volunteered time to helping the homeless, people with disabilities, the elderly and doing other volunteer work. Seems odd but when you volunteer time to helping others it often helps to give you a different perspective.

Not sure if this helps but these are some things that have helped to keep my focused on different stuff when I get depressed.

I agree on the hobbies, but...

I have a lot of hobbies, and I end up having times where I don't do any of them and just sit watching youtube and flicking though social media and it feels wasted, and a lot of times, I may want to pursue one of my hobbies, and just mentally can't do it right now. Don't know if you've had trouble with this, but if you have, don't worry about it and just take advantage of the times when you are in the right mood to do things. (And a day spent having fun with a video game is still better than one where you didn't do anything.)

Also, sometimes if you don't feel like doing something, but manage to force yourself to do it, momentum kicks in and you start feeling more like doing it. Playing music in the background can help, too, if it's the right type of music. It can affect your mood more than you might think!

I'd also say, if there's anything you like, but are bad at, spend some time doing it and being bad at it and try not to care that you're bad at it. Sometimes you'll get better at it with time, and if you don't, if you still enjoyed it, the time doing it isn't really lost...

Feelings Mutual Bro...

...But I'm not giving up the fight & I'm trying to gain as much hope as I can muster

I have hobbies & interest like everypony else & I hope someday it will come into fruition.

So 4 you: whatever you like, whatever your talent/skill you have, just give it a try.
