Well, I only watched this vid, not played game itself.

Interesting to think in context of permacomputing, because "outdated"/low power graphics doesn't mean obsolete as in irrelevant story.

Of course there are other recent examples of using this idea of sapuent dog in space, namely small segment about Cosmo.

Or some old soviet film

I also thought some game console might gain from collective mindset by sharing user-updateable/editale asset library on some storage.

I mean yeah, computers do it today, but they have literally 1000 of memory or CPU of those consoles (ps1 was "just" 33Mhz main cpu, plus some mdec video accelerator, plus vector math / geometry transform hardware at similar low speeds, plus rasterization part. Apparently nr real single/double precision fpu, so geometry was wobbling ... but I guess in some genres it doesn't matter much?)

Also, I had this fun idea about transforming Doom into adventure - you travel Hell, listen stories, and your "weapon" literally just unlock more and more piwerful "word dumps" from inhabitants ... (just some momentary idea about subverting idea about shooter game engines only good for one thing. They still can display text, still ...)
