So...............I watched the new Velma show to see if it was as bad as everyone says. Was it? Wellllllllllllll.
I honestly didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, yeah the character is a complete 180 from their past selves, but it was somehow enjoyable.
Some things feel forced but it doesn't seem to be using any points either.
The character of Fred as a spoiled rich kid I do believe can work, but only if he isn't in arrested development.
Velma is practically everyone in the world today, judges people based on the little evidence and personal vendettas she has and assumes she's right rather than take the chance and admit she may be wrong.
Norville has his funny moments but needs a reason why he hates drugs rather than the Regan mindset
Daphne I feel is believable as the spooled rich popular girl, but feel like it can be done better like Fred.
The references to past Scooby-Doo mysteries are good and are fun to watch out for.
My opinion is Velma is gonna be like a B-horror movie that you watch as a guilty pleasure and is gonna be like Cool World.
I highly recommend checking it out for yourself and form your own option rather than listen to critics or reviews online that will always be biased.
I honestly don't think it's Netflix Death Note bad, but it will NEVER!!!! be or beat the OG or Mystery Incorporated.
To me it was... fine. Nothing I'll watch more than once.
Probably because I take it as what it is, that being satire.
