With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.
That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

This is a video of my disastrous first attempt at Melania on NG+. My successful strategy both times has been: be crazy aggressive, do high, staggering damage, and hope the mimic isn't a fucking moron.
That didn't work until like the sixth attempt.

She's widely considered to be the hardest boss in the game, and is completely optional.
And yeah, I kept exploration to a minimum for NG+ so far, to get to the Mountaintop of the Giants to get a second Rivers of Blood katana.
After many failed attempts, I said fuck it and found someone to summon who absolutely wrecked her.

I wish lol. Although I did look for that summon sign for like 20 minutes just to see if I could find it.
I found that one hand bleed, one hand frost, whatever weapon combo will melt her no matter what. Still, I'm waiting for the DLC before I commit to any more NG+ runs.

Yeah, just completed a super quick Journey 2. I think I'm gonna take my time on Journey 3 now that I've got copies of Bloodhound Fang and Rivers of Blood.
At least until Dead Space comes out, then it'll probably be time for a break from Elden Ring. Plus there's always more writing to be done.
funny enough i found that if you dont wanna use the good but also kinda cheap rivers of blood katana, then the uhh frick what was the greatsword called again... its Blaiddes Greatsword(been a bit since i played so cant remember the names of everything on the top of my head) but another good weapon to spam on her ass with mimic tear XD

Rivers of Blood is great, but it doesn't stagger or stun enough.

that is true katana's aren't too good for stagger, but in terms of attack speed they are pretty good, but ya i tend to find that Bloodhound's Fang puts me in a bad spot more often then naught XD
