So! So! I got a super cool pairing this year. Super cool because the dude that I was going to be writing a secret story for was none other than GapJaxie! I was going to wait to publish mine until later but seeing this here... yeah, no mine comes out now!
Imagine my amazement and complete shock when he published his Jinglemas story at 12AM EST and it was... for me! Jaxie wrote the fantastic Jinglemas story:

Jaxie has always had a unique take on Changelings, and in fact, some of my favorite stories of his involve our favorite shapeshifting bugs precisely because of how uniquely he presents them.
I love writing changelings as tricksters, sometimes scatter-brained, not actually quite-malicious little buggers, and that's my thing. That's why Chrysalis is how she is in The Three Sisters. But Jaxie has this thing about his changelings, that just reflects so much about what the emotional distancing and reality vs (non-changeling) expectations are, and it just gives this depth to the characters that if you blink you can accuse them of being emotion-less, but if you pay attention you realize it goes a LOT deeper than that.
I'd like to say that in this story, it's not as bleak as it can be in other stories, and that the ending just gets that undertone of support from Ocellus that I can expect only from the best changeling that's not evil.
