TV Tropes Page Apple Bloom's Mansion

Someone made a TV Tropes page about the Apple Bloom's Mansion saga.

Subspace Army Tree Before Chapter 168

Here is the tree showing the officers' ranks in the Subspace Army before chapter 168. I advise to read the chapter first before seeing the image.

    "New" Story and New Group

I'm starting to write a new story, or not really. It will actually be a compilation of stories in the universe of UME. Tales From The Omniverse. More than a compilation, this is a group made by Cyrus Colter there. In this group, people will be able to post their Tales happening in UME's universes.

    Sizes Precision

With A Sweetie Dream Land's rewriting, I have changed some sizes.

As of the starts of A Sweetie Dream Land, Kirby was 20cm tall. A Waddle Dee is about 30cm, Dedede, about one meter, Meta Knight, over 30cm (maybe 35cm, not sure yet), and Sweetie Void, about 50cm.

By the time of The Forgotten Land, Kirby is 30cm tall, and Sweetie is about 60cm.

    Rewriting A Sweetie Dreamland

I'm going to start to rewrite A Sweetie Dreamland, essentially to change the verb tenses. I'm also going to change "Dreamland" to "Dream Land", maybe change a few lines here and there, and so on. I don't know how long it will take, but I think that I should be done before the end of February.

Pokémon Moves: PSI or not? · 8:14pm Nov 6th, 2022

So, I'm currently writing the Meganium versus Ness fight for the next chapter. However, as I started it, I realized that I'm not sure which Shield would work on which Pokémon moves. Obviously, PSI Shield will work on Psychic-type moves, but outside of that? Like, Solar Beam? PSI Shield or not PSI Shield? Would this be something like Spe moves = PSI Shield and Phys moves = not PSI Shield? It's a bit confusing, and I don't really remember how this worked in Earthbound.

I know in the actual smash bros games, the PSI Shield absorbs damage from any projectile based attack. But only projectile attacks. Physical based attacks will not be absorbed. It's the same idea with the reflector tbh.

Actually, it's PSI Magnet which, in Earthbound, absorbs PP from enemies. In Smash Bros, it absorbs any energy-based projectiles to heal Ness. PSI Shield is a reflective shield like Fox's (excepted that Ness still takes some of the damage).

Well from how I see it,all Psychic moves do are PSI attacks or based on the same power and All Psychic-type pokemon are technically Espers to some extent.

I was talking of Pokémon moves in general, not just Psychic-type.

5696641
I thought Ness's down B special was called "PSI Shield" not "PSI Magnet".

Welp...

Why not have PSI Shield work like Light Screen? Have it work for any special attacks such as Solar Beam, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, etc. In this case it might make more sense to have pokemon attacks function more closely to game mechanics than anime. Maybe he can have two types of shields, one for special and one for physical, like Light Screen and Barrier. However, he would have to choose which one to use because he wouldn't be able to keep both up.

Then For the Rest I would say no unless they got a Psychic Move, for they being able to use them denotes at least a shred of Potential on that field.

Think of it this Way:Psychic Types would be like Natural-Born,Gifted PSI users.as such, their Psychic Powers and Abilities are The Greatest and Potent, along with having the Bigger Potential to Delvelop all kinds of abilities from their powers.

Then Pokemon who are able to use Spychic type Moves without being Spychic type themselves would be Pokemon that do have the Hidden Potential of Spychic Powers,But Because their Natures Don’t Focus on said Powers, their Potential is Lower,In turn Making them unable to learn as much Different Spychic Powers than the average Spychic-Type and the power of said Spychic Attacks being lower(Y’Know,same-type moves as the Pokemon being more Powerful.)

To sumarise: Spychic-Type Pokemon=Talented, powerful and Natural-Born Espers like Ness and and his Friends.

No-Spychic-Type Pokemon that learn Spychic Moves=Pokemon that Have a bit of hidden Spychic Potencial that Barely gets to grow into said Moves the Pokemon Can Learn.

Pokemon that do not Learn Spychic-Type moves at all=Pokemon that simply didn’t Born to be Psychic of any kind at all.

Hope this help you.

I think that you misunderstood the blog. I was talking of which Earthbound Shield (normal Shield or PSI Shield) would work depending of the Pokémon moves. Obviously, PSI Shield would work against Psychic-type moves, but beyond that, would it also work against moves like Hyper Beam, Flamethrower, Blizzard, or Solar Beam, or would the normal Shield be effective instead?

After all, Shield is to block and deflect attacks in general while PSI Shield is to block and deflect psychic attacks (including stuff like PK Fire, PK Thunder, PK Freeze and so on). But some moves like the ones listed above are ambiguous. They aren't listed as Psychic moves but they still work most of the time thanks to some power/energy that the Pokémon have, and I don't know if that power/energy would enter in the same category as PSI. Like, Flamethrower would be considered as a PK Fire. Or not.

5696662
Ok then…I would say that the Normal shield is the one that would Work, because like you say the PSI shield work against PSI based moves and while Special attacks do are based on some kind of Non-físicas energy,Things like Water,Fire,Plant etc special moves seems to be more Based on a Elemental-kind of Power,Magic I would even dare to say.Something more like Francisca,Flamberge & San Partizanne Elemental Powers if you follow?

So yeah, while things like Flametower or solar Beam ain’t exactly Fisical, their origin is not Psychic/PSI based so They aren’t the Same, thus The PSI shield would not Work because we aren’t talking about the Same energy/Power.

Thanks.

It's pretty much how Shield and PSI (or PK) Shield work, excepted that the last one works for PSI attacks while the other one works for all the other attacks. And while I was wondering if PSI Shield would work on special attacks like Light Screen, Justalad made some good points. Pokémon moves are part of the "other" category excepted for the Psychic-type moves which are part of the "PSI" category. So this means that the PSI Shield will only work on Psychic-type moves. It's rather obvious when written light that, but you never know with these kinds of stuff. It really depends of how you consider Pokémon moves, but if all the special moves had some Psychic energy, then what would be the point of the Psychic-type.

Just to throw this out there, and since I'm not 100% certain it wasn't said.

All Pokemon moves are set against Defense and Sp Defense. This is why some moves hit harder on certain Pokemon regardless of type advantage. If the move requires Defense to reduce damage the Shield will be effective. If it uses Sp Defense to reduce damage then Psi Shield will be needed. Just a simple way to determine what should use what.
