G5 Misty to lead things off because she’s super-adorable and not-at-all evil. What could be cuter than Misty? Filly Misty. What could be cuter than filly Misty? Filly Misty in a Nightmare Night costume. There’s a lot of G5 art for this blog post – if you’re not watching G5, you’re missing out. I can’t emphasize this enough – I know there are a lot of G4 purists out there, but G5 is worth a chance. If you go in with an open mind, I think you’ll enjoy it.
Most of my horse words have been spent writing two different series’ that differ in a few details. This is officially an entry in the Car Wash series and isn’t canon to Business Trip & 16.
The characters are mostly the same, but there are a few differences. The timelines don’t match up, as ponies that are foals in Friendship Is Magic are still foals in the Car Wash universe, while they’re adults in the Business Trip setting. Cozy Glow is also completely unrelated to Flitterheart in the Car Wash universe, and remains an unrepentant statue in the gardens of Canterlot Castle.
There’s a lot of overlap though – Ploomette’s still the Duchess, Snowcatcher started the Mareiott, and Kimono started Where All It Ever Does Is Rain Car Wash, LLC. Kimono and Minty briefly showed up during Snowcatcher’s final chapter in Act I, and now the Car Wash crew is returning the cameo appearance.
I apologize for the cover art. I struggled with this one – in the end I went with a pumpkin I carved on a camping trip more than a decade ago. It’s supposed to be a wrecked 1966 Ford Mustang but… it didn’t come out as well as I’d hoped. I also carved out the taillights, gascap, and back bumper on the side not shown.

As the author, I know what’s coming in this series. As the self-insert protagonist, I’m worried for my continued well-being. Fictional me may never forgive real me.

Snowcatcher’s line, “Applesauce anypony?” is a callback to one of Applejack’s lines in Rescue at Midnight Castle, the very first MLP special of G1. I have a copy of this on VHS from when I was a kid. No, G4 wasn’t my introduction to the My Little Pony franchise, though it’s the generation that finally sucked me in. It was G3 that truly won my heart, and G5 is certainly making its mark on me too. There’s a reason I run the Group Friends of All Generations here on FimFiction.
Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon is included here because Tara Strong is one of the voice actresses in the film.

When Bifröst says, “It is being a surprise!” she really means it. Literally. Or should I say, Surprise really means it. Foreshadowing and lampshading all at once.
100% canon to the show as seen in the gif above – Pinkie Pie can make costumes so accurate to another pony that nopony else can tell the difference.
Lastly, I just want to say mayonnaise.
G5 is going nicely. I love how they're not afraid to make fart and poop jokes. And I'm amused by the complaints about it in the EQD comments sections. Don't act like you're somehow above that sort of thing, people.
Is Ploomette thinking about putting in a call to Princess Cadenza for a special matchmaking job?
Is Feathermay the original Birdman, or the Harvey Birdman incarnation?
There is a bit of foreshadowing there, and I'm looking forward where it's going to end up.
