This is a story about a sheep. A little sheep, locked deep in prison, put there by ponies. He doesn't want to be there, but then he's had to do a lot of things he doesn't want to. It's a shame he deserves to be in there.

And that is a line that really sums up Prey's view of life. Gods this story is great! Making me feel all these emotions!
I still feel like this story has still more punches to give, and I'm about to not be able to go back up.
This... spiteful satisfaction at the revenge is nice, but I did not want this, I am still very sad, and hopeless, I am so sad we're near the end, I am so glad we're near the end.
I'll keep waiting and reading. This is all I can do.
I still hope for something, I'll cling to Prey to the last dot of the last chapter, always, ever and ever, because you wrote him well, because I root for him.
Great job Lambsy.
I only have one thing to say right now.
AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
Looks like Prey story is coming to an end. I've said it before and I'll repeat it again - this is the best thing I've read on fimfic. Please, whatever you do, don't stop writing.
Way quicker than I thought. But I can't read now :'(
Already?!
Again?!
moans
Ah.
This was a quick post.
And...
I think I'm fine with this, now.
Prey lived a life. Gossamer lived a life. It wasn't much, in the end, but it was his. His and Crimson's. The ripples of it continue. Prey lived; that, in the end, cannot be taken away. In his own way, he mattered.
And yes, Panem, I was an angry dancing gremlin.
I STILL BELIEVE! I'm sticking with my gut and will keep believing he'll return.
Keep Calm. Prey Lives. The Story Endures. There is Much Work to be Done.
You're gonna have to pry this copium from my cold, dead hands.11185938
If anyone can overcome the inconvenience that is death, prey can do it.
Firstly, I hate Luna a little less now. What she did to Crimson was unimpeachably nice. Nice enough to slightly ease how much I despise her. Only slightly mind you, but still credit where credit's due.
Secondly. Fuck Celestia.
Thridly, next chapter in two weeks like usual or are you a good person?
Wait- I just realized, the alicorn we all hate’s entire argument doesn’t make sense. If she’s just “keeping harmony” then why did harmony itself fix prey after he was torn apart by discord?
I was really looking forward for Lemon and Crimson to meet, I didn't mean like this.
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
If I remember correctly Crimson stayed away from the fish markets. So...

as long as lemon is still around there is a chance beside he was not made of flesh and blood, there the pin cushion, prey ribbon, still the possibility, beside erasing everyone memories would be a good part of any scheme prey would come up with for his grand escape
Seeing Celestia in her injured state:

Well deserved too, Prey did warn her what would happen.
For some reason the fact that no-one but Prey's best friend and murderer remembers him hurts even more than Prey dying.
Thank you for this journey.
11185953
I mean, I hope, too, but this uncertainty just hurts.
If wishez were fishez...
Im still pretty sure he will come back, though I may also just be on mind bending levels of copium
11185955
Well hey, Lemon did originally contact Prey by leaving a lamb doll for him to find. It's not like finding another body is an issue, especially if Selenia decides to give Celestia the finger from beyond the grave via the pincushion.
Ha! Celestia DID get seriously injured! That's why she needed to retire! Fuck her and her one-sided justice!
Bravo. Lets see where this ends up.
11185944
Because her belief in Harmony is religious. Of course there's no sense in that. Even if all is true, she basically admitted that "no dark magic" law is worth taking innocent life, which is a terrible statement to hear from a ruler.
Yo with preys memories in lemon and crimson to take the lead new power rises? Prey lives in part in her memories, can teach crimson preys runes and knowledge, and he can continue his work
But how does Strange Happenstance still remember?
Celestia and Crimson are understandable, one was away from the city and the other had built in protection from Prey's runes. So how does Strange remember?
Lemon Pink is still alive, clearly, but Prey having been disintegrated likely isn't coming back.
;-;
Prey's Lamb loves to leave things ambiguous huh?
A reindeer calf stays still, never said dead, could be Prey is back as a reindeer, or is unconscious, or had its mind broken.
We won't know until it's revealed, and we might never know.
11185999
He said his little white midget friend, perhaps his cutie mark is telling him all this, he seems to rely on it so much after all.
Error report
I have already given everything I could [to] your nation.
You better not be giving us any of that terrible false hope you beast.
The thing is, that this still sticks to Canon, it'd explain how Chrysalis could overpower a god with nothing more than a straight line avoidable love laser.
My, my, my. Prey's contingencies stop in their execution and now Crimson's speech and thought patterns have changed to match a certain someone's while he's basically the only one to remember Prey. Wonder why...
Jokes aside I am curious if this is because of the lich's mirror Prey peered in so long ago or because of a failsafe of his own.
11185944
It's like one of the comments pointed out last chapter. She's not acting as a true agent of harmony anymore but an interpreter and judge using the authority of harmony to carry out its judgement.
11186007
Prey would never do something like that to Crimson, Prey sees Crimson's mind as just about sacred.
Not intentionally, atleast, maybe that last fragment of his soul had entered Crimson?
A soul like Prey's would likely be attracted to the singular thing it loved in life, after all, and he seemed to have made an attempt to transfer his soul to a reindeer as well.
FUCKA YOU, BITCH!
After everything these characters have been put through, this is downright cackle-worthy. Simply glorious spite.
11186004
Possibly but everyone else has forgetten everything about Prey, as if he never existed in the first place, even Luna believed that there was only 2 ISND guards. But Strange knows there was a third that was small and white.
11185999
The conversation with Happenstance occurred before Celestia took the Jaw.
11186023
That probably took place before Prey got Thanos snapped by Celestia, as Strange Happenstance had been leaving the palace, so probably shortly after the trial concluded
A very good chapter, but it doesn't solve any problems that the previous one made. In fact, it made them worse. Prey not having any legacy outside of Crimson is a knife to the fucking gut. Especially if Celestia had gotten away with murdering him. Maybe if Crimson is about to go meet up with a reborn Prey, and they skip off into the sunset, it's at least a good ending...
11185944
Had a five hour long argument about this. Celestia murdered Prey because she believes she's infallible and knows what Harmony wants. But we know that Harmony at least was okay with him living.
Ugh. For all the hate we had piled onto Luna, she was at least trying to be good.
11185999
I think it happened before he died
11185965
You're not alone, I bought a CPAP machine just to pump it into me. At least this has given us back the chance Crimson will pull Strange's spine out through his ass like he (doesn't) deserve.
So.
The story goes on. I'm sure crimson will make a fine protagonist. But I do hope we'll see of Prey once more, even if just a reconstruction of him.
I'm still unsure of what to think of the new chapters. I don't hate them, but I also don't love them... At least, not yet, it very much depends on where the story will go from here on out.
While I do agree with kks to some degree, I still think it perfectly captures the themes of unfairness, of how it was all built on cards, of how there were no happily ever afters.
Get fucked, Celestia.
I'm still filled with thoughts about this, but I'm sensing there's still more to this? So I'll let them simmer for now.
How long will it take deer Prey to get to Crimson?!
This arc is fucking brilliant. It keeps getting better with every chapter. It's definitely a sucker punch to the gut, but that's a good thing. The fact that it's unclear whether or not there will be a happy ending just proves that you've done an excellent job raising the stakes of the story as we hit the climax of this arc. I can't wait to see how it all ends.
My favorite arc is the Mayflower arc, but this is a close second.
Well I feel a little less like doing some previous chapter-esque screaming for minutes on end. You've bought yourself some time and me some respite from thinking about nothing else.
I'm not sure I believe you when you say it's your first story, you have done better than authors who became millionaires did on their twentieth. If I am not offered a chance to buy it at the end (which is hopefully, through the copium gas filling my apartment, a ways away) I will throw a petrol bomb through the window of an occupied dwelling.
11186051
I was thinking maybe prey had been forgotten about and strange happenstance (who is totally a changeling or someone capable of complete mental isolation like a changeling) didn't know he was not supposed to remember prey.
11186036
Yeah, Luna may be trying. But this no excuse for failing. Now, the only thing she can do is keep trying, lest be the mighty trampled by their own power.
Does anyone notice how similar the chapter title is to the mlp song, ‘You’ll find your place’?
Edit: nvm this is the lyrics
