Thanks to my new one-shot, I've just broken 1000 pageviews! I thought I'd celebrate this special occasion, and I think we all know what that means:

That is all. As you were.

Still alive! · 1:35am Jul 2nd, 2013

Wow, it feels like ages since I last updated a story. So many things kept getting in the way that I wasn't able to find the time I wanted to be able to write.

But The Seventh lives on still! Given where I'm leaving it after this chapter, it hopefully won't be too long until the next. We shall have to wait and see.

This is weird · 9:52pm Apr 24th, 2013

So, some of you will remember the bit in The Seventh where I said the following:

For a moment, it occurred to him that this must be what the end of a date felt like, and he felt somewhat uncomfortable as a result.

Some of you may also have noticed that I've now removed that. I decided that it just opened a big can of worms that was never even supposed to exist.

The Codex Explained: Winging It · 4:41pm Apr 20th, 2013

This blog entry contains spoilers for chapter 5 of The Codex: A Sister's Burden. Read on if you dare.

So... alicorns.

Ever since I first heard the spoilers about Twilight getting wings, I started coming up with contingency plans for how to incorporate this into The Codex. But in the end, I realised that confirmation that a pony could become an alicorn actually helped give me some chance of dealing with another thorn in my side: Cadance.

Saturday updates: much new stuff! · 2:24pm Apr 20th, 2013

So, I got a little carried away over the last week. As a result, you, my wonderful readers, get not one, not two, but THREE new chapters to my stories! Read on for some useful information about these updates.

The Codex

We're getting close to the big event now, and this next chapter covers a fairly pivotal moment in Equestrian history.

Rejected from EQD · 10:10am Apr 16th, 2013

Not surprisingly, The Codex has recieved a rejection and first strike from Equestria Daily. I say not surprisingly because I was aware that the format I've chosen makes it difficult to avoid the pacing/show-not-tell problems they cite, and the only way to get around this would be to completely rewrite and restructure the story, probably removing the framing device and increasing the number of chapters by an order of magnitude.

The Codex: A new chapter · 11:56am Apr 15th, 2013

The first draft of the next part of The Codex is now finished, and to my astonishment, it's nearly 13 thousand words long! This is going to take a while to proof-read, so I am expecting to submit it next saturday. It's quite a major chapter in the story, with a lot of important revelations about a number of important events. I hope you all enjoy it when it's done.

News, thanks, and an update! · 1:45pm Apr 14th, 2013

Well, this has certainly been an interesting week for me. Stuff has been going on in all my various projects, so a bit of news follows.

The Seventh

I am flattered by how popular this story seems to have been. I had thought of it just a minor side project, something I wanted to write for the sake of writing. But it's had over 500 views now, way more than I had anticipated!

So apparently I'm an ancient Greek · 1:39pm Mar 31st, 2013

My family and I were discussing a reading that was used at a Good Friday service, and my mum commented that it must have been a very literal translation of the original Greek because it used a lot of participles (i.e. "thinking that some may not be clear what I mean, I provide this example of a participle's use"), and this is apparently a hallmark of ancient Greek writing. Looking (argh) back at The Codex, I realised that this is apparently something I do as well. Maybe
