You may have noticed, I finished Of Age. Finally.

You also may have noticed that you're all friggin' awesome for keeping up with it for fourteen months.

Clocking in at 80,000 words, finishing this story is a massively huge deal for me. It's not the longest thing I've ever written, but it's certainly the longest fanfiction I've ever written. And it has many other distinctions beyond that, which I'd like to take the time to go into.

PS: You're welcome. (SPOILERS: For what, you may ask? I decided a bit more than Chapter 15 was needed to truly bring this fic to a proper conclusion. Yes, folks, that means an epilogue.)

I'm getting excited. Expect an update soon. Within a few days...or maybe even later today, depending on how much coffee I suck down this morning!

Poor Spike. He's no soldier, that's for sure. I'm going to say it's definitely not spoiler-y that Spike is sad as we move into Chapter 15.

For as quick and easy as it was to write Chapter 14, writing Chapter 15 is almost painful. I've rewritten the first page seven times in the past four days. And the rest of the draft needs a serious overhaul (and a couple thousand more words to flesh it out).

Endings are hard.

This is spoiler-y if you haven't gotten to Chapter 13 yet, but you have to check it out if you have: Please Come Back To Me by Pia-chan! Once again, it's perfect. Just...perfect.

Oh man, Chapter 14 is practically writing itself. Look for it to be posted soon--likely within a few days.

The level of badassery in this chapter is seriously making me grin. Though some of you might not like how it ends.

It's looking like this fic will be 15 chapters in total, as I'd originally planned. So yes, we are reaching the end. Hence the badassery.

Of Age was one of three fanfics nominated in the 1st Annual Summer Review Marathon over at Problematic Reviews. How cool!

It was nominated for "excellent dialogue and narrative", which I have to say, is a huge compliment. It didn't ultimately win, but I'm still just honored it was picked as a nominee!
