Since Magic Duel is technically S2...

We get to keep S3 opener OP!Twilight.

I love OP!Twilight. Obviously.

Also I looked at S3 opener again. Holy crap I do not see how Twilight is not going to end up either an Alicorn or a Goddess or something.

Whew, that's nice to hear. · 10:13pm Dec 4th, 2012

So since we didn't generate a bazillion dollars with our first game (we weren't expecting to) we did have a secondary income source lined up while we worked on others.

It fell through.
So did the tertiary income source.
And the quaternary.

(Also, my book didn't generate a bazillion dollars, but that wasn't expected either.)

I was at the point where I was going to have to literally sell my car or similar so I didn't default on my mortgage.

So these last two episodes... · 7:12pm Dec 1st, 2012

I'm aware that it's a kid's show, but don't you think that some people are getting off a little too consequence-free? Sure they learned their lesson, but there should be at least community-service style reparations.

That said I still liked today's ep. It's one of my themes that while Twi is absurdly powerful, power is itself not a very good solution to the vast majority of problems.

Edit: Also I loved the Arabian design for the delegates. Dat barding.

Paperback! · 12:54pm Nov 8th, 2012

Cliffside is now available as a paperback.

So far as Main Sequence goes, I'm not sure whether I'll do it like Apotheosis (finish the whole thing and then post it) or Off The Edge Of The Map (post it in discrete but large chunks). The argument to the former is probable rewrites as the story matures, and the argument to the latter is it won't take eight months to appear.

Updates... · 1:26pm Oct 30th, 2012

Alas, my book is not doing so well (this isn't all that surprising really, but I was hoping for a little more response than I've gotten!). Not enough purchases/reviews/ratings for it to be featured anywhere I suppose.

IT HAS ARRIVED · 11:13pm Oct 12th, 2012

Finally my book is published!

For anyone who does buy - please rate and review. Lots of ratings and reviews might be able to push me up into a featured box somewhere...and that would be awesome.

Well, it's submitted... · 6:09pm Oct 12th, 2012

Cliffside is off to the Kindle store.

I'm told it will take 24-48 hours to appear in the kindle store. When it does I'll throw out a link. (I am also going to see if I can get EqD to feature me, because readership!)

The hardcopy (paperback) should appear soon afterward. I'm still muddling about in CreateSpace so I'm not sure how it all works.

The first thing that I do · 1:25am Oct 4th, 2012

Edits and tweaks aside, I have officially finished The Demon Of Cliffside.

For the next few days or week I'll be going through it for copy-editing and transcribing it to Kindle stuff. I'm also going to try and use CreateSpace for those of you who would prefer a hard copy.

The other thing that I do... · 2:25am Sep 29th, 2012

I don't spend all my time writing. Some of it, I spend coding.

Several months ago I quit my job to work on a gaming company startup. While we've been doing various things, we finally managed to put out our first app! It's iPad only right now - sorry to all you folks that don't have one - but we're going to try and do more games for more devices in the future!

Ta da!

Goofus and Gallant proofread. · 1:42am Sep 2nd, 2012

Okay, honestly. I've done quite a bit of proofreading recently and...frankly I think a lot of people are Doing It Wrong. So I came up with a simple set of scenarios that might help people!

The Proofreaders

Gallant finds general classes of mistakes and provides suggestions on how to approach them in the future.

Goofus corrects two sentences with no explanation.
