The Document of Pony Gear Solid: Character Relationships (spoilerrific) · 3:05am May 19th, 2013

If you want to keep your characters consistent, you need to understand who they are, and how their various personality types will clash or mesh with the other characters'. Snake being very, very different from the mane six, plotting out how their characters would interact and getting it down on paper (so to speak) is a very, very good idea.

So I wrote this out to consult, and decided to post it publicly, rather than hoard it to myself. You're welcome.

Solid Snake and...

MegaBlog: Document of PGS, MGSV, and David Hayter · 2:47am Mar 28th, 2013

Been a while, huh? Since I wasn't filling your bellies with Metal Gear goodness, Kojima decided to do my job for me. Wasn't that considerate? Unfortunately, he forgot a key ingredient in the delicious soup that is Metal Gear Solid.

David Hayter.

Not to worry, folks. I've got a solution. It involves me killing myself out of sorrow.

The Document of Pony Gear Solid: Pegasus Wings and AT Corp · 6:00pm Mar 3rd, 2013

A great deal of digital information has been released in the aftermath of the Patriots' downfall. Among this information is data which pertains to the mystery of Pegasus Wings' disappearance. Shortly before the military group vanished, a series of emails were exchanged between the vice president of AT Corps, and an unknown third party. Curiously, while the VP's emails were directed at Pegasus Wings CO Alistair Cain, there is evidence to suggest that they were neither read nor even received.

And it only took me six damn months! · 7:54am Feb 4th, 2013

Finished the rough draft after swearing to myself that I'd get it done by tonight. As it stands now, with very little revision save some touches that I've made in the process of writing the draft, it is 18,362 words long, making it the second longest chapter in the story. That number will probably go up after I revise it, and it might grow even larger after DPV111, traveling prereader nonpareil, is finished with it.

Weakness Leaving the Body · 8:22am Jan 28th, 2013

"The pain sustained me - pain in the shoulder that had to be dislocated, pain throughout my body from a day's worth of abuse, pain from the rocks that pinned me, pain from Twilight's horn digging into my chest. Pain was an ally. Pain was how I knew I was alive. The absence of pain, the comforting, gentle numbness - you feel that, and you're dead."

[no title] · 5:47am Jan 24th, 2013

Something occurred to me a couple nights ago. I was revising part of the upcoming PGS chapter (without spoiling anything, I'll just say that I made the choice to change part of the chapter from third to first person), when I realized just how much I dislike writing rough drafts.

Lunatics Running the Asylum · 6:33pm Jan 20th, 2013

Far be it for me to judge Studio B's handling of the show, but I think that there are rules in place to prevent, say, the showrunners picking up a premise submitted by a fifteen year old and producing it as an episode.

Haha! The word count has been DOUBLED! · 8:14am Jan 17th, 2013

At the start of the new year, the rough draft of the next chapter of Pony Gear Solid was a little more than five thousand words long. The current word count is just above ten thousand.

It isn't a good idea to measure creativity with numbers. Nevertheless, to have a numerical value to associate with the amount of progress is... nice. I wouldn't want to rely on it as a motivating factor, but I have the feeling that I'm making headway here. I missed that feeling.
