So I took a break from Solace in Silence to edit it and work on continuing From Scratch while I did so. But every time I started to, I never got anywhere. So now I'm halfway through editing From Scratch instead. I'm going to toss out another chapter of Solace once I finish with the edits and revisions on From Scratch just to make up for the lack of updates, and lack of any progress on editing as well.

I unpublished it, it's really been bothering me. It's basically been on hiatus for a while, but I really really need to rewrite it. The first few chapters are frankly horrible. I want to really retool the beginning quite badly because it just sucks, but it's such a big project that it's daunting so I keep putting it off. For now I just don't want people to see it and judge my other stories based on the sad state that RoI is in. I didn't delete it though, it's just not visible at the moment.

Mostly just to push the last one off my profile because I eventually rewrote the lost chapter. I'm not super duper happy with it, but I realize that I'll never be happy with it since it is a replacement not what I had originally. Whatever, I got the first chapter of my contribution to Ponyfall up, working on chapter 9 of Solace, then I'll try and get out From Scratch Chapter 3.

Sound like a plan? Get it? Got it? Good.

I'm seriously going to cry, I don't even know what the hell just happened. In order to explain I have to talk a little bit about how I do my writing in general. Usually I just drop a first draft out without worrying about grammar or even exposition just getting the general flow of the chapter out. This first draft is TERRIBLE, and I then proceed to save it put it to the side and start over.

Sucks, I know what I want to do, I have a good idea on how to get there. But it's not happening. Blargh

All the current chapters are done you'll notice my story is now about 5k words longer as each chapter seemed to gain words on rewriting even though the purpose was intended to just be changing tense. Blah blah I"ll get back to updating now, blah blah people still arent reading this but I've gotten into the habit of updating it anyways.

I'm scrapping the present tense, it was an experiment and it just keeps causing troubles. I figured it had to do with inexperience and I would be able to push past it eventually but it's continuing to make things awkward even at the point in the story where I had hoped it would really start to add to things. I'm going to start rewriting this in past tense which is going to suck because it means I now have to make sure I catch -every- present tense word and switch it.

This could take a while.

My story is getting enough views that people are probably starting to come here and look, so let me say 'Hello' and get a few things out of the way.
