10200 words on the 'drunken adults must be rescued by the foals' story. Shooting for about 20k total -- this one will be light and funny, and not as epic as Symphony or CTS.

So what's next?

First, probably a couple of minor things. I need to decide if I want to start submitting my Lunaverse stories to Equestria Daily. (I'm leaning towards 'no,' if only because their cover art rules seem rather onerous, but I suppose it might help to boost the profile of both the Lunaverse and my stories more. Actually, have any Lunaverse stories been on ED besides RDD's?)

Looks like Symphony for Moon and Sun made the feature box! *happy dance* Thanks to all those who have read and enjoyed the story! :-)

Probably won't be publishing much else until after Symphony is up (which, at ~9 more chapters not counting the bonuses, should take another week and a few more days), but on the list for after:

1. That 'Trixie tutors Sweetie Belle' M-verse story. There's at least one particular pair of scenes I really want to write out. This one'll be long, though. And hopefully an epic quest for poor Sweetie.

Two bits of news:

2. Perhaps more importantly, I've finished the gaiden pieces, meaning that the whole thing is now drafted. There will be six 'interludes' showing prior, failed attempts to play the Symphony. It will be like the 'what not to do' guide before we see Octavia try it. The gaidens are short (~1000 words), but I do think they help the story.

It's submitted!

Now, I haven't quite finished all the gaiden chapters (I'm thinking there'll be about six 'ponies who couldn't hack the piece' bits). Might be a few delays later if I can't bang those out in time. But each of those chapter is <1000 words, so I should be able to finish them up by the time we get there.

Not counting them, though, 33k words, which I think is about right for a story with this amount of content. Here's hoping y'all like it!

30k. The fight scene and symphony itself ballooned a bit on me. :-) Still have the aftermath to write out, but then that'll be all for draft 1.
Then a round of editing, after which I'll know how many chapters I have, so I can figure out how many 'here's a pony who couldn't quite figure out the piece' segments to do. (If I decide to do them, I'm still not sure if it'll just get repetitive after a while).

The next story is coming along well. 14,500 words so far. I'm having a couple issues with pacing and such, but I think I'll be able to straighten those out. Sadly, Octy gets put through the wringer in this one, but I think in the end she'll be better off for it.
I am planning to put in another song, by the way. All I'll say is that it is also from Chess: The Musical. Of course, given all the rewrites that musical has had, that probably doesn't tell you very much.
