There’s no better place to watch a sunset than atop hill. It’s the perfect spot to watch the brilliant star inch below the horizon and into the distance. And on one particular hill sat one particular tree, that was one of the oldest trees in all of Equestria. Legends say that it was older than Celestia herself, but you know what they say about legends, you have to take ‘em with a grain of salt. And under that particular tree was a particular pony, who went by the name of Twilight Sparkle. She'd been frustrated as of late as she hadn't been able to master the art of combining spells, like her pupil, Starlight Glimmer, could. And this frustration came to a head when not only when Starlight put on a wonderful display of magical prowess in front of her, but whilst the ever-ditsy Rainbow Dash was trying to cheer her up. The alicorn cast a powerful spell intending to make her friends disappear from sight, but wound up throwing herself into another dimension, where the concept of time didn't exist, and where dusk hung precariously over the land. For a brief period of time, she finds herself overjoyed with the prospect of living out her life untroubled by the woes of social interaction. However, as the old saying goes, she soon finds herself regretting what she wished for.
