Warning, this will contain spoilers, so please - if you haven't watched the episode yet, you may want to watch it first.

Courtesy space to help avoid spoilers...

Okay, this episode really was an awesome episode - so much was given in terms of lore that there are going to be a few fanfic authors horrified to find their stories are no longer canon :)

Interesting things that jumped out:

Community Service - out on good behaviour · 7:39pm Dec 17th, 2011

With a little help, the community service spinoff is now its own story.

Go there to follow it :3

There will be more, but next comes a revisit to glenn in 'a twist in the tail'.

Note: er, forgot to mention, it's not up YET, but it will be :3

Merry Christmas. You're Fired · 5:54am Dec 16th, 2011

I've finally found out what's happening with my job. Basically, I'm losing it. Not yet, a few months, and then there's the severance pay, and of course I and others like me are top of the heap for new positions, but I'm still losing my job.

I'm not sure how to feel about it, really.

On Writing for Fun... and For Fun · 8:33am Dec 15th, 2011

If you noticed, I just published another story a couple of days ago on this site. It's called "The Ambassador's Son" and it's the turnabout story of a dragon bringing up a pony. If you care - most won't, to be honest - it's not up on EqD. Will I post it there? I don't know, maybe.

The point is, the words I put on this site are for fun. This is why I wanted a site like this and helped (in my own small way) make it happen.

community service - part 2 · 2:49pm Dec 12th, 2011

Call this "authors notes"

This chapter might be a bit preachy. I'd like to know if you think it is. I'm trying to develop Edge and I'm worried that she is a bit wordy for what she is. She's supposed to be a dumb kid, but you know what? I've met a lot of dumb kids and even the dumbest come up with profound thoughts once in a while.

Not that what I'm writing is definitely profound - but it is maybe perhaps coming from how I see a character in this world acting given the circumstances.

I was going to write an awesome blogpost · 5:35pm Dec 11th, 2011

...but then I forgot what I was going to write about. It would have been a good one, too.

I guess I can run with that.

To Suffer For Your Art · 9:05am Dec 10th, 2011

I've heard you need to suffer to create art. I'm inclined to believe it, in some respects. Most comedians, I'm told, have a hard childhood. Maybe they're fat, or just different, or just don't fit in. Comedy is their way to cope, to belong. Some of them are fantastic. Eddy Izzard really makes me laugh, and for some strange reason he likes wearing women's clothing. He's not gay, he doesn't want to be a woman but, as he himself said, it's pretty much like being any other boy really - running,

The story display changes and you · 7:45pm Dec 9th, 2011

Before I say anything else, I want to say I respect Knighty greatly for not only creating a stellar site, but for caring enough to continue maintaining and developing this hobby which gives an almost irreplaceable outlet for FiM fanfiction. There isn't a better site out there. fanfiction may be bigger, but it is in bad need of being dragged kicking and screaming into the nineties, let alone into the 201x's.

should I write this, or not? · 2:37pm Dec 7th, 2011

I'm not sure I should write this. It doesn't belong here. It's tangentially related because it crops up in some of the stories I write and has cropped up in others.

That's my religion, or rather, the lack of one.

On the many faces of Equestria · 7:24pm Dec 5th, 2011

One thing, before I delve further in to this, has to be said.

I find it continuously amazing that in a little girls' show, made for 6-8 year olds, the only things I have to complain about are relatively complex and high-level. The animation, bar mistakes, is flawless. The music is incredible. The voice acting spot-on. The characterizations, in general, are perfect.
