Step 1: Find the time of day when you get into a creative "sweet spot". For me this is after 8pm and before midnight.

Step 2: Blare through a local radio Tool, NIN, and any other fast paced grunge music, or fast paced music that can keep you up but won't mentally distract you. (Avoid dubstep. Base drops can disrupt an idea you're trying to write down.)

Step 3: Don't walk in with a plan. Just type like mad and hope to Celestia it's somewhat comprehensible at a later date.

Writer's Training Ground #4 has been an interesting experience. I managed to write 4000 words by working straight through Monday, then realized that the EQD prompt had a maximum of 5000 words for this particular thing. And I still had about 1/3 of a story to finish. There was a "screw the rules" moment I had and continued writing for no particular reason other than not to waste effort.
