Question for some military servicemen or experts here:

Do US Forces usually rely on fighters to defend ground forces against hostile aircraft, or do they only rely on Stingers? I'm not really sure if the US military have any wheeled or tracked vehicles that carry short-medium range missiles besides the Stinger.

Just wondering if there are no friendly fighters available to assist in contested airspace.

The Battleships are all modernized with landing pads, new radar, CIWS, anti-air missiles, countermeasures, etc.

For example, this is what the modern Yamatos look like in the story.

I’d find pics for the others but everyone pretty much knows what a modern Iowa and Vanguard look like but there aren’t any for the Bismarcks and the Littorios.

I’m also willing to take ship names for all factions, including the Griffins, Minotaurs, etc. as long as they make sense. I’m not naming an Imperial ship “Dragonfist” or some anime reference. I like how the British name their ships and I’m taking names from multiple languages too.

Also for the Imperial ship designs, they must be designs or prototypes in the real world like the Montana-class Battleship. Only Battleships in the WW2 era and other ships in the Cold War and Post-Cold War eras.
