finally, right? this recovery program totes works. it's not finished finding all the files so i can't recover everything yet

... buuuuuuut i've managed to at least recover chapter four right now. so, regardless of everything else, at least chapter four has been fully recovered. i've also recovered a few other works in progress, so minimal stuff has been lost and that's pretty boss. chapter four should be up sometime this weekend maybe depending on when i actually finish it.

i found some software pretty much for exactly the situation im in with this shit, but it cost money. like 70 bucks worth just for me to use it twice ever (once to get the fics off of the drive and once to get all the stuff onto the new drive ill eventually get) but at least it came with a free trial. so i used that and had to leave it running like all day, overnight before it retrieved the files

but then it turns out that actually saving them is a feature only available in the paid version.

yep. chapter two is fukkin done. i wanna give it one or two more readovers to catch any spelling ang grammar fuckups before publishing it, but the prose itself is done. theres about 90 or so less words than chapter one - 2022 as opposed to 2112 - but somethin' like 13-1400 of those words are sex scene, as opposed to only 400 in chapter one (most of chapter one was about how fuckin' hot carrot top was.)
