And while it’s not been fun for anyone, plus side is that I’ve finally hit the root of the problem (he said hopefully) and with any luck, sorted it. In a strange way, returning to writing fan fiction has made it easier to write my original work.

I’m considering bringing my old Spectrum side stories back (they’re technically just ‘unsubmitted’ right now so it’s not a difficult thing to do), as well as “The Jed R Cut”. Given... things, I’d probably end up having my side stories be more in line with the Jed R Cut than the “real” Spectrum.

Well, the first short story in the “original” version of that universe has just gone live on Amazon kindle.

I’m super happy with this piece: I feel like it holds the spirit of the original whilst being its own thing, and needless to say it was a lot of fun to write (with support from my co-writer, who helped make sure it wasn’t all “Hollywood tactics” 😉).
