I just got back from my university graduation ceremony. I am now Blade Star BScEcon (Hons), with a 2:1 in the field of International Politics and Strategic Studies. I'm no longer a student and have been told to go out into the world, mainly to find a job. Hopefully, with a qualification from a prestigious university department (the International Politics department at my university was actually the first in the world, founded just after World War One) I will have more luck finding one.

When I completed my first fanfiction a little under a month ago, I received more than a few requests for a sequel. And I said no. I decided that the story had both reached an acceptable conclusion, and had also reached the limits of my ability. Well, I have now finished my first fanfiction, and if I do say so myself, it seems to have gone quite well. Okay, don’t get me wrong, it is not the greatest thing since sliced bread; it certainly won’t win any awards. But as a first attempt from someone who hasn’t done any sort of creative writing since high school, I’d say I’ve done alright. My Family and Other Equestrians currently has a roughly 85% approval rating in terms of votes.

Well, I think it's safe to say, we have our first brilliant episode of the season; the 'Rarity Takes Manehatten' of Season 5. Discord almost always makes a great central character for a story, and it was interesting to get so much added to his background. The whole chaos realm was of a great quality, as was Discord ever unpredictable antics; the MGS reference got a laugh out of me. Then of course, once again Pinkie breached the Fourth Wall, this time actively harassing the camera crew.

Well, I just got the word. 'My Family and Other Equestrians' has been denied a place on the Good HiE list. The reason given was that it was not an HiE story as the main character becomes a pony at the start of the story. Also, due to me and Blade Star sharing names, it has been viewed as a self-insert. While this is not true, as I have stated many times (I'm just not very imaginative with names), I am not going to contest it. It's only a list after all.

Well, here I am. Were I an American, today with be the first day I could have a legal drink. But since I live in dear old Blighty, I've had that ability since I was 18. However, I do see 21 as the age where you do properly become a man. So I guess now I've crossed into a whole new area of weird; I am now a man who watches My Little Pony and writes MLP fanfiction.
