Name a major event that brought the U.S. ahead in the war. I was there. Liberation of Seoul after the North’s annexation back in ‘19? I was there. Sabotage of the North’s missile base in southern Russia? I was there. Or how about the take down of Pyongyang back in 2026? I was right there, clearing a path for the Marines. Every soldier’s got a war story, one they’re ecstatic to share. But for me, the war was business as usual. My real story takes place after Kim Jong Un was taken custody, after the fall of his regime and the fall of North Korea. While my experience as a Marine Special Operation Group operator in and around Korea was intense, it was nothing like the impending task. I am Lieutenant Colonel Alex Ewing, Marine SOG, and this is my post-war story.
