Am I the only one who thinks it's very rude to just change your handle and not give anybody insight into who you actually are?

So I've been playing phone/fax/email/smoke signal/Morse tag for the last month and a bit trying to get into rehab. I finally managed to get everything clear and will be going in on Wednesday.

The road to recovery has been long, but hopefully I'm nearing the end.

you know that I'm a very sentimental man, and that, with this, comes a sort of extravagance of self-expression that might make me a bit of a handful if you're looking for a casual friend. Everything has to go out, be it good or bad, so that it doesn't stew in my mind and make me fret. Is this a symptom of my bipolar disorder? Eh, perhaps, but, in this context, I'm not interested in the answer to that question. I'm too happy. I'm glowing. I know I'll sleep well tonight.

I guess we'll see how that goes. I hope it works out. Should be interesting!

Yep. Now to get to work replacing some of that muscle mass.

One of the things that came with the GI issue that put me in the hospital in the first place is water retention, and getting that to go down and stay downhas meant, besides water pills, having to spend a looot of time off my feet--hence stiffness, some muscle atrophy, me just lying there being miserable, all that--but I'm upright again and moving freely.

. . . just how different I am to those who know me on here versus those who also know me on Skype. You know, once the conversation's been sped up a bit. Because I feel like there's a difference.

Now back to choosing Christmas flowers for a friend. Hmmmm.

I'd like to talk to you about this phrase: "politically correct".

It feels like an oxymoron, or maybe Orwell's Doublespeak, doesn't it? Perhaps it does deserve to be thought of in negative terms, if only for being an awkward and unnecessary euphemism for what is basically the Golden Rule.

I know it's easy to be cynical around this time of year (For example, is it just me, or has the approach of Black Friday been celebrated more than Thanksgiving itself, this year?).
