I'm about halfway done with chapter four, which takes place during the pilot, but I'm too sleepy to be creative. Probably Friday.
I'm getting a lot more immediate feedback on my latest story than the Scrivener tales. I guess those Scoots fans are a passionate cabal. Chapters two and three were mostly about Martin but I've got some Scootaloo chapters and scenes coming up. Chapter three was just a pleasure to write since I've had it in my head since summer, I just jotted it out on the bus effortlessly due to all the pre-pro work I put in.
I've got the pencils done on the cover art, it should be inked tonight and scanned tomorrow. I'll give Chapter 1 another edit and then it goes public!
Chapter 2 is nearly done and I have it plotted out until five or so.
Scootaloo is one of those characters that is interesting because of what we don't know about her, mainly her family life and potential disability. I always thought it was a good idea not to parrot what they did with the other CMC and have her be the little sister of Dash or Flutters. You can get away with that once but were you really best friends with all of your older siblings best friends? So conjecture is all we are left with.
My Scootadad story is taking a lot of time, I know. It's a lot more personal than the Scrievener tales and will probably be longer. Also, the first two were mystery stories and easy to structure. You may notice Changeling Incursion started each chapter with Quill going to work and ended returning to her family. This new slice of life story is freed to meander a bit more, but harder to wrap up the narrative.
My Canterlot Wedding tale is complete in my head and should be done my weeks' end. As much as I'd like to keep tales by Quill Scrivener rolling (I'm thinking of one called "Diplomacy" about Saddle Arabia, the Zebrica Lands, and the Griffon Despotate) I think I want to write about Scootaloos' dad.
