From a lost chapter of The Xenophile's Guide. According to the notes, it was going to be a treatise, by Twilight Sparkle, on the origin and physical underpinigns of magic, with a lot of headcanon about the magic of earth ponies and pegasi, and other species as well. If I ever find the time, I'll try and expand it some more.
