Exterminatus, The Imperial Side of things.

Exterminatus of the Equus Primaris

M41.993

Space, nearly empty place full of wonders and beautiful things... On a big scale it appears to be mostly peaceful place, but those who look closer will understand that it’s just a lie... For in the dark future of the 41st Millenium there is only war...

Space over the Equus Primaris.

Thousands of swirling purple portals that looked similar to cyclones that plagued Holy Terra millenias ago, slowly opened above the peaceful planet, even looking at them would make lesser men or in this case ponies go insane. For some it was know as the Immaterium, to others as the Warp. For the Imperium of Man it was known as their biggest enemy and only way to travel across the galaxy.

As holes in the Materium crackled, purple lightning jumping around them, large metal behemoths started to slowly come out of it, uncaring about the dangers of the Void, their massive, many kilometres long spires gleaming in the planet’s star’s light.

For the next few minutes more and more of those hulking giants came out of what could be described as hell, only stopping after exactly ten thousand vessels were waiting above the planet. If one was to look closer they would see that each of those ships had multiple golden markings, all of them in the shape of a double headed eagle.

The Imperial BattleFleet of the Ordo Xenos was here.

Imperial Emperor class Battleship “The Emperor’s Light”

On board of the massive fifteen kilometers long vessel, countless people worked to help the Emperor’s cause, full human control over the galaxy. To do that every possible threat to the Mankind needed to be vanquished, and a planet full of xeno psykers could in time certainly become one.

“My lord, we have arrived to our destination” stated twenty five years old officer, already proudly wearing his blue, Imperial Navy clothes, golden Imperial Aquila shining on his left breast. He was slightly afraid but who wouldn’t in his place? He was talking to one of the most important people in the entire Imperium, to one who in theory could overrule even High Lords of Terra themselves. He was only few meters away from the Inquisitor.

“Very well, carry on Lieutenant” simply replied Inquisitor before turning around and walking towards the viewport, enormous hundreds square meters big window that allowed him to look at the planet. Inquisitor Alexander of the Ordo Xenos was old man even though he looked like in his early twenties he was already 624 years old. During his quite long life he saw a lot of things, from xeno races corrupted by the Chaos to the Imperial planets overrun by the Genestealers.

In his first years as the Inquisitor he thought that some alien races could actually live under human control, nowadays such naivety made him laugh at stupidity of his younger self, through the centuries of his service he learned many things, one of them being the fact that all of xenos were filthy beasts that couldn’t be trusted or even controlled. Any attempt to ally with them would always end in betrayal and massive loss of human lives... And that couldn’t be allowed to happen. Normally when discovering lush green planet like this inhabited by some xenos they would need to invade it and cleanse it of all sentient life personally, each Garden World was important after all, luckily for the Imperial Guardsmen this planet couldn’t support human life, various gases and toxins in it’s atmosphere would kill any regular being(except for those that evolved on that planet).

Today single, clean and quick Cyclonic Torpedo would be enough to ensure human survival.

Usually bridge was a loud place, hundreds of people checking over all systems, ensuring that ship would work properly without any issues. That changed immidiately when the Inquisitor started to speak, entire place becoming silent, anything said by person of his position could change their entire lives and ignoring anything Inquisitor talked about was extremally bad idea.

“Initiate planetwide transmission” It was completely unnecessary of course, they could simply exterminate xenos without them ever knowing anything until their deaths but long time ago he discovered that speeches like this motivated crews, and scared any aliens, decreasing any possible resistance.

During that time, Battleship followed by thirty Crusiers slowly began to lower itself into the planet’s atmosphere with as much grace as it was possible for a ships of it’s size.

“We are ready, my Lord” replied communication officer, transmission already being sent, nearly everone in the fleet could hear him now, with all xeno radios and TV’s also reciving this message... That’s of course if they are even advanced enough to posses those.

Inquisitor looked one last time towards the green planet, it wouldn’t remain like that for a long time. In mere minutes nothing but ash and fire would remain.

“In fealty of the Emperor, our Undying Lord.

And by the Grace of the Golden Throne,

I declare Exterminatus upon the Xenos world of Equus Primaris,

I hereby sign the death warrant of an entire world,

And consign five billion souls to Oblivion.

May Imperial Justice account in all balance.

The Emperor Protects!”

During time of his speech, ship entered the planet’s toxic atmosphere and tens of thousands of Imperial Navy Indentured Workers started to slowly haul the Cyclonic Torpedoe towards it’s launching place, many of them dying during the process from either exhaustion or pain of cackling whips.

Just as the Inquisitor was ending everyone who could on every ship chorused after him

The Emperor Protects!!!” and Torpedoe was fired, lazily flying down towards the ground.

Ten seconds later massive explosion shook the entire planet, fifth of it’s population dying during that moment. In five more seconds all xeno psykers were dead, unable to handle the strain all dying creatures created. It took another ten seconds for the last pony to die.

No one on the Imperial ship felt any remorse as ten minutes later Imperial Fleet jumped back into the Warp, immidiately moving towards their next destination, in a few years nearly no one would remember this planet anymore, its previous inhabitants lost to the time, just as the many thousands of alien races before.

If one was to visit this planet in the future they wouldn’t find peaceful green land full of happy pastel colored ponies, no, instead there would be only a burning husk of a planet to look at.

The End
