Ugh, Really, Pinkie?!

Rainbow Dash was sitting in class, watching the clock tick away. Only five more minutes until school was out, or for her, five more minutes until she could go practice basket ball. She couldn't hear what her history teacher was saying, she could only think about the sweet ringing of the school bell.

"Wouldn't you agree, miss Dash?" her history teacher, Ms. Harshwinny asked.

"Oh, um, what would I be agreeing to?" Rainbow asked.

"Miss Dash, you should know what you're agreeing to, you should have been paying attention." Ms. Harshwinny said.

The whole class snickered.

"Alright, class, it;s time to assign homework."

Rainbow was on her way to the basket ball court when she was stopped by her friend, Pinkie Pie.

"Hey, Dashie! Where ya goin'?" Pinkie asked.

"To the basket ball court, wanna come?"

"Sure! I finally finished handing out all of the invitations to my Christmas party!"

"Sweet, but I haven't gotten one, where's mine?" Rainbow asked.

"Right here!" Pinkie said as she pulled a pink envelope out of her wild mane and handed it to Dash.

"Thanks, so, who else is going?"

"Oh, a lot of people, I even invited Twilight Sparkle!"

"Oh, you mean that smart girl who sits alone all the time?" Rainbow asked.

"Yeah, her. I thought that it would be nice to invite her, even if she doesn't have any friends."

"Cool, cool. I just hope you didn't invite Soarin." Rainbow said.

"Don't be silly! Of course I invited Soarin! I invited the entire school!" Pinkie said.

"Great, now I'll probably have to deal with that creep trying to chase me down during the party when I'm trying to enjoy some eggnog!"

"Heh, sorry, Dashie, but I couldn't just not invite him, I mean, I ship the both of you!" Pinkie said.

"Still don't know what that means."

"And I'll never tell you."

"Okay, then. I'll be right back, I have to go change into my b-ball uniform!" Rainbow said as she headed into the girls' locker room.

Pinkie headed into the gymnasium and took a seat on the bleachers next to Rainbow's teammate, Fleetfoot.

"Hey, Pinks, what are you doing here?" Fleetfoot asked.

"Oh, just came here to watch Dashie practice for a little bit."

"Oh, I see, you gonna tell her the surprise?" Fleetfoot asked with an evil grin.

"Duh! Of course I'll tell her the surprise!" Pinkie answered.

"What surprise?" Rainbow asked as she walked over to the pair.

"Oh, nothing, I'll tell you in a sec, I just have to check on something." Pinkie said as she checked her phone.

"Okay." Rainbow said as she went to go shoot some free throws.

"Sweet! It's confirmed!" Pinkie said happily.

"What is?" Rainbow asked, not taking her eyes off the basket.

"Oh, it's nothing, I only just set you up on a blind date at Sugarccube Corner this Saturday."

"You what?!" Rainbow asked.

The ball that Rainbow had just thrown bounced off the backboard, and hit a shocked Rainbow straight in the head, knocking her out.

"Oh my gosh! Rainbow! Are you okay?!" Fleetfoot said as she ran up to Rainbow.

"I'll go get the nurse." Pinkie said as she ran out of the gym.

"Ungh. Where am I?" Rainbow asked as she came to in the nurse's office.

"You're in the nurse's office, hon, you got hit in the head with a basket ball, and you have a concussion." the school nurse said.

"Oh no! That means I can't play in this Friday's soccer game!" Rainbow said as she sat up quickly.

"Yes, unfortunately, but the co-captain wants to talk to you." the nurse said.

"Oh, great. He's the last person in the world that I want to talk to right now." Rainbow said.

"Well, hello to you too, Dash." Soarin Skies said as he walked into the nurse's office.

"Great." Rainbow mumbled.

"So, uh, I came to visit you for some pointers, I guess." Soarin said as he took a seat by Rainbow.

"Ugh, whatever. Whatdaya wanna know?" Rainbow grumbled.

"I want to know how to give a good pep talk." Soarin said.

"Oh no, I'm still doing that, even if I can't go out on the field, I'm still giving the pep talk!" Rainbow said.

"Fine, then I guess I should leave, captain." Soarin said as he got up.

"Oh no, sorry, Mr. Skies, but you need to see that Rainbow makes out to her parent's car safely. You can go now, Rainbow." the nurse said.

"You couldn't just call Fleetfoot or Pinkie?" Rainbow asked.

"They all went home, sorry Miss Dash, but you'll have to spend two extra minutes with Mr. Skies."

"Ugh, fine. Let's go." Rainbow said.

Soarin walked Rainbow out to the front of the school, Rainbow was surprised to see that it was dark outside.

"Wow, how long was I out for?" Rainbow asked.

"Two hours." Soarin said.

"Yeesh, darn basket ball." Rainbow muttered.

"Yeah, okay, um, bye, see you tomorrow, I guess." Soarin said once the pair got Rainbow's parent's car.

"Sure." Rainbow said coldly as she got in.

"Hi, honey, how ya feeling?" her mom asked.

"I'm fine, I just want to go home." Rainbow said.

"Okay, we can do that." her mom said as she pulled out of the school's parking lot.

Once they were home, Rainbow went straight up to her room to text Pinkie.

Hey.

Hey! How ya feelin?

Better, why'd ya set me up on a blind date in the first place?

Because the Fleetster and I thought that it was about time you went on a date!

Right, right. And who is said date with?

Oh, please. If I told you, it would ruin the whole idea of a blind date!

Of course. But is it someone that I'll hate?

At first, maybe, but I think if ya get to know him, you'll grow to like him!

Sure. Anyway, I gotta get some rest. Night!

Rainbow put down her phone and went to bed.
