The dreamer (Scootaloo)

It couldn’t really end like this, could it? Not what after I just been through. We’re going to get through this, right? We’re going to be together forever, right?

I’m starting to think over wise.

Leaving the park I headed to my house, stopping next to a road where ponies were waiting for something. Maybe there’s no special somepony for this filly. After all, I’m too out of their league for most of them. Maybe there was no such thing as ‘love’. I have crumbles every time I heard that word. But when I was about to accept my destiny as a loner I saw him, just standing there.

And he saw me. He was the colt of my dreams.

But his look was so hypnotic that I didn’t notice he joined Pinkie Pie’s occasional smile parade. And everypony knows that when it happens it becomes an impenetrable wall. I had to think fast: with a parade full of ponies, sometimes with the entire Ponyville population in it, it’s difficult to tell who is who. And with over 700 houses in the town it could make a stop anywhere. I trotted as fast as I could to the nearest house, but instantly I got tired.

Will I spend the rest of my time alone?

No, I was tougher. My special shortcut was right there, next to Sugarcube Corner. Soon I’ll catch up the parade. I never trotted this fast but every fiber of myself told me “you can do it. This is the one. You can’t let this one go, you have to keep pushing, you’re going to make it!” I’m doing well, nothing can fail...

And then a tumbril appeared from nowhere.

“Oh I’m so sorry” said the owner. Luckily the hay in it soften the crash but I wasn’t going to make it. Then I remembered: my scooter! I went to my house, took it, put on my helmet and I was ready to continue. The breeze on my face, the wind surrounding my body, I felt like Rainbow Dash.

And then a rock appeared from nowhere. You can guess what happened afterwards.

And just like that he was gone. The parade was over and I had nothing left but a damaged tire and a broken heart. When it comes to licking wounds there’s nothing better than sugar and there’s no place better in sugar than Sugarcube Corner, it was near to my house so it was convenient. After leaving my scooter at the entrance I ordered a chocolate-vanilla milkshake. When I was about to go destiny had a last surprise for me: he was there. I forgot everything else, I dropped my milkshake, I threw my helmet away and just focused on him. I suppose I acted similar to when I see Rainbow Dash but I don’t know about it.

“I have to tell you that you’re the best of the best ponies I’ve ever seen. I need to know you entirely. What’s your name? What’s your favorite color? Can I have a chunk of your mane?”

I felt a tap on my shoulder.

“Who are you and why are you with my coltfriend?”

I’m starting to think over wise. She prepared her hoof. You can guess what happened afterwards.

I stayed at Sugarcube Corner’s main door along my scooter. Maybe there’s no special somepony for this filly. After all, I’m too out of their league for most of them. Maybe there was no such thing as ‘love’. I have crumbles every time I heard that word. But when I was about to accept my destiny as a loner I saw him, running and flying on the road.

And he saw me. He was the colt of my dreams.
