Sorry for taking so long to respond, but I wanted to make sure that I could answer your question well.
To be frank, your question has honestly prompted me to take a good hard look at my writing, and I'll be uploading a blog post shortly to address the change that you've prompted.
Answering your first question, the reason why I used the Gore and Dark tags in conjunction was because the "Thriller" tag did not exist at that time, but they are honestly fitting tags for this kind of story. They are there because this story is about a group of mercenaries, which means that there is going to be violence, death, and a lot of morally-grey areas. If you want a more specific list, I can PM it to you.
Your second question is honestly what took so long to answer, and has honestly prompted the change that I will go over in detail in the blog post, but here is what I will say here. I have one rule in regards to content in the story: Everything is there for a reason, and that reason is to further and enrich the plot. There's never just "blood for blood's sake" or wanton disturbing moments, and I do try to balance it all out to keep the story accessible to most readers.
Keeping this in mind, I tend to resort to a technique of "implicit content" in regards to violence and other darker topics. While it never states anything outright, the human imagination fills in the blanks, although sometimes with an image much worse than what was intended. There are a few times where it is stated directly, but those moments are brief. If you've read Calm Wind's work, you'll know that this story won't really have a "happy" ending, but I promise that it won't be just darkness for the sake of darkness. There's humor, joy, and true happiness mixed in as well, to keep a balanced story overall.
Hopefully that answers your question.
Who the hell are the Falchi? CSAT?
