The countless millennia of performing this task had conditioned her to know when it was time.

Time for her to perform her duty.

Her sovereign duty.

She glanced at the guards in the hallways.

Their faces displayed nothing if not respect.

Respect for her.

Respect for The Princess of the Day.

She knew that soon it would be time to rule.

To judge.

To create and uphold law.

To sign treaties and make compromises.

To serve the ponies of Equestria as best she could.

But not quite yet.

Not now.

First came daybreak.

It was time to raise the sun.
