Kida's story

The first day and a solution

Kida muttered a quick goodbye to her mother before breathing deeply and walking in the general direction of the schoolhouse. She was greeted by a cheery magenta mare "Hi sweetie, and what's your name?"

Kida jumped a bit at her speaking so suddenly and tripped over the stairs."Er...I'm Kida" she introduced herself as she got back onto her hooves.

"What a nice name!" the mare said cheerily "I'm Cheerilee, I'll be your teacher!" Cheerilee helped Kida to her seat and stood at the front of the classroom, Kida could hear the low mutter of the others and feel many gazes piercing her coat and shifted uncomfortably "Class," Cheerilee began, "This Is Kida, she will be our newest student!" the whole class was staring at her ,she didn't like it, not at all.

After school was over she heard the swishing of a mane and heard a nasally, jeering voice say , "so what are you, like, blind or something?" Kida had heard enough impressions of that voice to know who it was- Diamond Tiara.

"Well?" the bully pushed her face towards Kida. When Kida said nothing she backed out of Kida's face and muttered to
Silver Spoon, her renown partner, "this mare has some attitude issues!" , snorted, and walked away. Kida felt the street sign,and pointed herself toward home I guess today wasn't all that bad, I'll talk to Twilight and see how weird her first day was.

Dr. Feelbetter shook his head, as did the other ten doctors before him, "we can't fix her eyes." Orion looked disheartened, a little glad that her daughter was too close to her to see her face "but.." the doctor continued, "we have many talented unicorns that can reverse the sight, giving her impeccable vision, but at a small price."
Orion's wings flared "I don't care! What is it!?"
The doctor smiled and replied, "Five hundred bits and thick, buggy goggles."

Kida sat, knowing the paperwork was going to take a while, Are my eyes really going to be fixed? forever? I don't care about the goggles, as long as I can see like a normal filly"mama?" Orion turned to her daughter "Yes?" Kida turned to her mother and the doctor, "How soon will I get them?"

The doctor gave a chuckle "A maximum of seven days, they need to be flown in from Gremaney, but they will be here very soon, you just need to follow me and after we take measurements and determine exactly how the goggles need to be cut and colored, Then we can put in the order." Kida followed the doctor and sat through her eyes being poked, scanned, and measured, but she got ice cream afterward so she didn't care. A few days, huh? this wont be too bad, then I'll be able to see and do things without having another pony help me! I'll make friends, maybe find my cutie mark!
