Well, it's finally here. This might be the last blog post update for the Kirin story, and it's just...amazing to finally reach this point. After setting the stage for this story to exist all the way back to October, it's here at last. I mentioned in the last post that I wasn't sure when the final chapter would go up, but now I do.
It's that time at last. The final chapter is next, and work is underway. It's been a long time coming, and something I've been waiting to do for a while now. The good news is that I've started work on it just now, and it's pretty far along. Without going into too much detail, it's a four scene chapter. The first scene was finished just recently, and work on the second is underway.
Last time, I wrote a post explaining what was going on with the 14th chapter of the Kirin story, and how I wasn't certain when it would come out. Since then, a lot of progress was made, so I'm happy to announce how things are at the moment.
So...this is a weird situation.
Chapter 14 is well underway, and it just crossed 5,000 words a few minutes ago. Thing is, this is easily going to be the longest chapter of the story. It's going to hit 7k words, easily. Probably 8k. It's been a bit slow due to IRL stuff, again, but I've still made some steady progress with it.
That took longer than expected, but the 13th chapter is up and good to go now. Took longer than I wanted, but a lot of IRL stuff happened over the last two weeks that slowed the writing down for a bit. And now...this moment is here.
Well, things got heavy there, didn't they? It's only going to get more intense if you can believe it. The kirin story is boiling over at this point, and there's only three chapters to go. As for when they'll come out...
Well, things are getting INTENSE with this one. I'm a little over 3,200 words into Chapter 12 as of the time of this post. Yeah, this is when things really boil over. It's intense, really emotional, all that stuff. When does it come out? I'd say...depends on what goes on with other things happening in my life. However, I'm very confident that it will release next Wednesday at the latest. At the soonest, it will drop on Friday.
Well, things are progressing even better than expected. Chapter 10 got the first draft finished today, and editing should be underway tomorrow. How long that will take, I don't know. It's definitely going up by Monday at the latest.
As to what to expect...oh it's going to be heavy. The real conflict of the story comes to light right about now, and you're going to see what I mean when that happens. Chapter 11 will be a breather chapter in comparison, because it's going to need it.
Another month, another 30 or 31 days of writing ahead.
There are about six chapters left to go with the story. I'd say Act 2 is almost over, and this upcoming chapter marks the end of it. The final five chapters are going to be a roller coaster, that's for certain. How they'll be that way, that's a surprise to put it lightly.
Good news, everybodypony. Endgame came out and I only got TWO spoilers for it this time, both of which were incredibly minor? If you're curious, they were time travel being a thing and the Ancient One coming back. Better than Infinity War where I had the freaking Spider-Man death spoiled by a YOUTUBE SEARCH SUGGESTION.
And then stuff happened. It's going to be a crazy weekend this time. Hint: Guess which movie I'm seeing on opening night. I'M GOING TO SEE IT AND THEN POST ALL THE SPOILERS RIGHT HERE Err, I mean, I'm not like that at all. I swear I'm an innocent person.
And then the season 9 premiere happened. Haven't watched it yet, but I got the gist of what happened. Welp, canon Sombra wasn't exactly what I expected to see, not that I thought he'd match Kiss of the Dark-style Sombra at all...
Yeah, took longer than I planned for the next chapter to go up. With the way things got IRL and some burnout mixed in there as well, it didn't go as smoothly as expected, despite the latest chapter being so short. However, things are calming down over here, which should make writing this easier to do.
Things are progressing nicely with the next chapter for My Little Kirin. Currently, I have 3K words written for it, and it's not too bad. A pretty crucial chapter as well, because that's when the main storyline comes to light. So far, the story has been about establishing Kunzite and Moonstone as characters, but now it's time to really start things up.
Given how slow things had gotten in the last month with the Kirin story, I figured the best way to keep tabs on the story for you guys would be blog posts like this. With how things have been going, it's probably best to not keep you guys in the dark, so here goes nothing.
