Hey guys, I know it's been a VERY long time since you've heard from me on here. It's been a year and a half since my last blog post, and it's mainly because I've been prioritizing other parts of my life.
Hey guys, I know it's been a VERY long time since you've heard from me on here. It's been a year and a half since my last blog post, and it's mainly because I've been prioritizing other parts of my life.
I know, I know, it's been forever, both with Hate Thy Neighbor AND MOA: Alternate Perspectives. I haven't been writing much lately, but I've been presented with an opportunity to change that. I'll be making separate journals tagging both HTN and MOA:AP since this journal will discuss my plans for both, so for the folks that'll be getting this in their feed twice, I apologize in advance.
Can we really call them heroes, though? I mean, let's be real here...
Anyway, in the most recent chapter, the trio was able to pull off a daring rescue, so what's next for them?
Just finished the latest HTN chapter and I'm currently proofreading it. Should be up soon!
Hate Thy Neighbor was published a year ago today! I'm on track to get the next chapter up by tonight, and it'll be the best way to celebrate the story's anniversary.
Been a while since we talked about this story, and it's gotten some new readers since then, so in the comments below, let me know who's your favorite main character, favorite supporting character, and your favorite moment from the story. Until next chapter, keep it sketchy, folks!
So the top three supporting characters were:
Amaryllis with 4 votes
Klaus with 3 votes
Griselda with 2 votes
I was definitely expecting Klaus and Amaryllis, but I wasn't sure if the third slot would go to Mr. Saddleton or Griselda, but it turns out the latter ended up winning, so here are the sketches!
I may draw Amaryllis again, perhaps looking a little... different.
So most of you guys know that I like to draw characters from my fics from time to time. It's a good way to keep my skills sharp, and it provides a nice visual for the readers to have when reading through a scene featuring the character in question.
Alright, so I got quite a bit of questions, and now that 24 hours (give or take) have passed, it's time to answer 'em all. Since a good chunk of these questions have to do with Hater Thy Neighbor, I decided to tag that story to this blog in case readers were curious. So, here we go!
Do you want me to tell you my idea for a story that no one has ever done before?
Uh, sure?
Why choose a Jackalope for Adrian's pet?
Still grinding away at the next chapter, and I'm suddenly realizing how long it is. To date, the longest chapter of the story is Chapter XII at 4,720 words, but with the way this chapter is going, I'm more than certain that I'm gonna break 5K, maybe even 5.5K.
Just curious about where Adrian, Trixie, and Chrysalis stand in terms of popularity. As you know, the spotlight is shared by all three of them, but it'll be interesting to see who you guys like the most and why you feel that way. Keep in mind, this has no bearing on what happens in the story. I'm just really curious. More so than I'd ought to be, really.
So I woke up this morning to a ton of suggestions from you guys, and I want to thank you for offering up your ideas. I've picked the names that I'm going to use, and they'll be revealed once the chapter comes out.
I appreciate you guys' ideas, as it was quite hard to narrow it down to just five, but I guess that goes to show how invested you guys are, and I thank you for that.
I'm hoping to get this chapter done by Saturday. Until then, keep it sketchy, folks!
Chrysalis, Adrian, and Rusty will be watching another episode of ENTM in this chapter, specifically the elimination at the end of the show. Aside from Primrose, who was named in a previous chapter, I'm gonna need about five more names for the other mares in the competition, so I figured I'd ask you guys, the readers, for some suggestions. Of course, I will acknowledge your contribution in the Author's Note when the chapter comes out. Once I find five names that I like, I'll go ahead and add
Sorry for the unexpected slack in updates, guys. I unintentionally put writing on the backburner in favor of other things during my summer break, but school's back in and I've gotten back to the grind. I just updated MOA: Alternate Perspectives, and Hate thy Neighbor is next. You can expect to see a new chapter soon.
Now that my side projects have been written and published, it's back to my normal writing schedule. Hate Thy Neighbor is currently being worked on (1K words so far), and I plan on having it finished by the end of the week. Until then, here's a little tidbit to hold you over.
So it's been nearly a month since the story's been updated, and as most of you know, it's because I'm working on a fic for Mother's Day. The story is close (so painfully close) to being completed. I hope to get it done before the beginning of May, then I can spend the days leading up to Mother's Day (May 10th) writing the next HTN chapter, and after I post the Mother's Day fic, I'll work on another one-shot that is super secret. After that, things will return to normal.
Made a lot of progress on HTN yesterday and it's already half done. I'll try to make as much progress as I can today, 'cause with the Season 5 premiere tomorrow, and with me travelling the next day, I probably won't have much time to write on those days.
Anyway, here's a tease for the next chapter:
The full image will be revealed in the next chapter. Keep it sketchy, folks!
I announced in my last blog that Naughty_Ranko would be writing a "special" chapter of HTN. Well, now it's complete and ready for viewing. If you haven't read Chapter X, I advise you wait until you're all caught up. If you are, click HERE to read it.
Chapter XI will come out in early April. Keep it sketchy, folks.
Wanted to make this update to let you guys know that my usual pattern will be changing a little. My usual writing schedule is that every month, I write 2-3 chapters of Hate Thy Neighbor and one chapter of MOA: Alternate Perspectives. Once I write this next chapter of MOA:AP and April rolls around, that's gonna be changing a bit.
A lot of you are wondering if I really killed Trixie off. Well, the next chapter has been sent to my editor, but I thought I'd give you an idea of what to expect.
