And can be found in the usual place.
It's looking like it is going to be a long chapter. I've been going over it for a while. I don't know if it will be two or three chapters, or one very long chapter. Depends upon the flow.
Some of the major story elements have been revealed. It helps to have read The Chase, but it is not entirely necessary. That said, paying attention to the details in The Catch are of vital importance.
For those of you who aren't in the know:
Cerise (Bloody) Velvet - great x grandmother of both Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer.
Fallout SPECIAL stats for a few Catch characters. Special stands for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck
Another update.
We now have a smashed Rye Mash.
Poor fellow, he's completely blitzed.
Prepare your bodies I suppose.
Helpful supplemental material...
i have an idea for a truly original character. I mean, a really original character, but I don't know if I will actually put her into the story.
I have yet to make up my mind.
The character in question is a kangaroo. She's a boxer. She's also a bit of a bogan.
Problem is... I don't know how people will react to having a drunken foul mouthed bare knuckle boxer kangaroo in their horsewords. So... I need reader input.
So I need to hear from you, the readers.
Will be seeing an update soonish.
For those of you who have been waiting.
After that, I'm not sure what is coming up next on the list of things to do. Things are... disorganised right now.
Okay, I've ironed out some of the wrinkles in The Catch. So I want to start updating it.
I need to know, how many Chase readers are reading The Catch so I can figure out some kind of worthwhile update schedule. If the interest proves minor, it might be one a week or once every two weeks. If interest is stronger, it might be a bit more often. If interest is strong enough, there might be an update every other day or so.
Go read the prequel to The Chase!
Woe Betide is now in the running for best filly.
Rye Mash meets a young unicorn wizard named Starjammer...
Hey, anybody been keeping up with The Chase?
**Whistles dramatically as he escapes**
Why yes, this was a bit of a spoiler teaser.
What do you think of him? Is he off to a good start?
Do you think he is an introvert or an extravert?
How well do you think he will adapt to his new life?
Other characters...
Cerise Velvet. Any opinions yet about her?
Spyglass?
Early rough drafts indicate that the story might need a gore tag.
I've gotten away with quite a bit of violence in The Chase. And there have been things that are a bit... iffy.
The Catch is going to have some real violence. I mean pointblank blunderbuss shotgun full of nails fired into the face kind of violence.
So what constitutes the need for a gore tag? Where does the line get drawn? I am looking for helpful input if somebody has some to offer.
I am kinda curious about how readers will feel about certain concepts being introduced here. Slave trade. Firearms. A story that takes place mostly outside of Equestria and deals with other cultures rather than ponies.
There is going to be an odd point of view being examined at great lengths. Living in a world with magic when you don't have magic. The invention of firearms and technology to replace what magic can do. Leveling the playing field so to speak.
Also, in The Catch, there will be vampires.
Not just bat ponies in the general sense, as most bat ponies are not vampires in the Chase Verse, but blood drinking vampire ponies of all tribal types.
That is all. You may return to your regularly scheduled day to day activities.
The Catch is in the popular stories column.
Yay.
If this story is given a chance and there is enough readership to keep it going, it will be another Chase length epic with lots of history about the Chase verse. Shadow governments, cults, changelings, insights into griffons, zebras, and even minotaurs. And there will even be hints to where all the humans that used to inhabit the planet went. It will be chock full of Chase lore...
So please, give it a chance. Thanks!
