UK PonyCon tickets are SOLD OUT · 2:55pm Oct 5th, 2015

Well, this was unexpected! Owing to unprecedented demand -- I guess partly because there's no BUCK this year -- UK PonyCon has completely sold out, which I don't believe has ever happened before. I'm not absolutely sure what the capacity of this year's venue is, but I'd guess around 500 -- and if that is the figure, it will make this by far the largest pony event in Britain this year. (Attendance was in the high 300s last year, with less space available.)

UK PonyCon 2018 dates! · 8:24pm Mar 13th, 2018

It was announced today that UK PonyCon 2018 will take place on the weekend of 13/14 October -- so exactly seven months from now! No word yet on the venue or ticket details, but I'd expect those over the next few weeks. I've been to the last four UKPCs and would love to go again, but until I know the venue I can't absolutely commit. We shall see!

UK PonyCon was fantastic · 11:01pm Oct 24th, 2016

I'll get a full (and doubtless highly waffly) write-up done for Louder Yay in the nearish future, but for now: I had a wonderful weekend. Not least the new (for me) experience of having someone bring up a story, unprompted, that was one I'd written -- not knowing the writer was sitting three seats away! And also having another someone I didn't know (who turned out to be Astrarian) say hi and thanks for reviewing her stories. Luckily

UK PonyCon report · 10:42pm Oct 4th, 2023

This is inelegantly copy/pasted over from the (slightly) nicer looking report over on Louder Yay. Of course, I'm sure you all read Louder Yay anyway because you're such great people, but just in case here's the report here as well...

These things are going up first on Louder Yay, but I thought I might as well copy them over here over the next few days. This will be a personal account rather than a proper report, so expect a lot of rambliness.

UK PonyCon report, part 2: Saturday – BaCon, ConCon, McCon · 7:07pm Oct 21st, 2019

I'll post these first on my Louder Yay blog, so that's the place to look if you want to read them as soon as I publish them. But I thought I'd copy the blogs over here for the benefit of anyone who's interested but prefers to stick to Fimfiction. Expect a lag of between a few hours and a couple of days before they appear here. If you've already read this on Louder Yay, it's exactly the same here; no need to read twice! :rainbowwild:

UK PonyCon still needs volunteers! · 4:33pm Aug 28th, 2018

UK PonyCon is the largest MLP convention in Britain, and this year it's on 13-14 October in Nottingham. One thing cons always need is help, and that goes beyond just the committee. Volunteers are always welcome -- in fact, without sufficient volunteers, some events simply can't happen. Even if you can only spare a few hours, that's still valuable! You'll generally need to be 18 or over and to have bought a convention ticket. (For the benefit of overseas

To (some of) UK PonyCon! · 7:13pm Sep 28th, 2023

Yes, I'm off to Nottingham tomorrow. Sadly for a variety of reasons, not least the continuing financial fallout of that car accident in June, I can only attend the Saturday daytime (until about 6pm) portion of the convention this year -- but that's much better than nothing! This year's guests of honour are Kelly Sheridan and Elley-Ray Hennessy, and while matching last year (Actual Fluttershy, Andrea Libman herself) would be impossible, that's not a bad duo! A train strike means my evening

Ashleigh Ball is coming to UK PonyCon! :o · 6:38pm Jul 31st, 2024

It's such new news that it's not on the UKPC website yet as I type, but here's their TwitterX announcement. UK PonyCon had already announced AJ Bridel, the VA for Pipp in the G5 series. Now it seems we're getting Ashleigh Ball as well! As far as I'm aware, she really hasn't been a regular at conventions over the last few years, so this is quite some coup. Unsurprisingly it's causing a lot of excitement, not least

My good friend Ghost Mike went to UK PonyCon this year, and I always await his post-con reports with interest. I'm happy to see that the first part is now up, and i think you'll find it well worth the read. I know I did!

Convention time! · 10:28pm Oct 17th, 2016

This weekend, I will be at UK PonyCon in Leeds. I'm greatly looking forward to it, as I loved the con last year. However, it does mean I won't be around on here much. Don't expect my summary review of the finale until early next week. (I've already seen it thanks to Tiny Pop, so that aspect is taken care of.) Everything else around here should continue roughly as it usually does.

UK PonyCon VIP tickets sold out, six months in advance! · 2:32pm Apr 14th, 2016

That's an academy record! All right, the VIP tickets were in pretty limited supply (35, I believe), but I'm still startled at them selling out in April for a convention that isn't until October. According to the con committee, there are still plenty of standard tickets available, but at the rate things are going they won't last until October either! At any rate, as BUCK fades into history it's really good to see the demand there still is for pony cons in the UK. :pinkiehappy:

UK PonyCon SOLD OUT · 8:04pm Aug 31st, 2018

For the fourth year in a row, the largest British MLP convention, UK PonyCon, has completely sold out of tickets. That's despite using larger venues each year -- this time will see 1,000 attendees. Only BUCK has ever before reached four figures in the UK fandom, so it's quite an achievement. I have my ticket, so with lots of luck and a following wind, I'll be there in October. Hooves crossed! :yay:

Little UK PonyCon update · 7:38am Oct 7th, 2024

UK PonyCon was brilliant. A few niggles here and there, but overall I loved it. Special guests were Ashleigh Ball and AJ Bridel. Most of my thoughts on the con will be along on my other blog (but possibly copied/summarised here) in a few days, but one thing here: for those of you a little disappointed by the reports a week or two ago of a G5 person being poorly received at another event: here at UKPC, AJ Bridel was cheered to the rafters. Pipp Pipp Hooray!
