Previously, I thought that “Ponyville” is actually short for “Earth Pony Village.” However, recent discoveries allow me to produce a much better hypothesis.
Listen, guys, I'm sorry, but I don't know when I'm going to be able to work on existing stories. I've got several new ones started, but don't know what to do with them, either. Not t fear, though. I WILL get stuff done. In the meanwhile, have some funny stuff.

I’ve been planning to write something of the sort for a while.
Because while I’m writing all those research notes about “canon,” I don’t actually elaborate what exactly “canon” is, why does it matter, and what all these posts with “canon research” tag really are for.
I just realised some shit..... a lot of us have been in this site for over 5 years...

i kind of feel nostalgic for some of the older fics, we used to have so much freedom, there was not a lot of canon outside of ponyville, now there are so many things to take into consideration.
Making a group with this kind of stores would be nice, like "Stories that only take canon until X season"

There was some confusion about it before…
First we had “hoofball.” Then, in Friends Forever #24 we got “boffyball,” which is a game primarily popular outside of Equestria, at least, according to Rarity.
But now there’s “buckball,” and I’d really love some more detailed description of all of them for my records.
Ah, the last episode before the hiatus. Judging by the leaked list of episode names, it’s the one least likely to screw up something from the upcoming ones, but let’s see…

I’m going to extend the practice of canon statement combing to chapter books as well. Mostly because I can. I generally ignore them, because they are usually even less in tune with the primary canon than comics – I only have that much glue to hold it together. The Journal is kind of an exception because of how important it is.
But maybe, just maybe, at least some of them can be exploited for more dramatic opportunities…

I’m not labeling this a “Season 9 episode 0” like some people did, because I’m pretty sure it won’t fall into the time frame of Season 9 either, whenever that airs. I expect numerous chronology issues from this one…
