No one has ever ask the question, "Why are we still in the Kenway Saga if Desmond died in Assassin's Creed 3?" Perhaps we are playing as a close relative of Desmond? What do you guys think?

we're in a completely different subject from Unity onwards, in Syndicate the subject was retrieving the location of the Shroud of Eden, one of the pieces of Eden that could restore health/heal and even do so much as stop death or bring someone back to life. I believe that the reason Abstergo was after the Shroud was to bring Desmond back in order to retrieve more pieces of eden for the templar cause. You need a living subject to go into ancestral memories and Desmond was the one who had the DNA for it so it would only make sense that they wanted to use the other subjects to bring back Desmond so they could continue looking for the pieces of Eden (at least that's one possible theory)

5741067 it's one possible theory and the whole Kenway saga continuing on in Black Flag could be that Desmond isn't the only descendant of Edward, it's entirely possible Desmond has a distant relative with DNA that aligns with Desmond's enough to have the third helix for the ancestors
