What if Season 7 was the last season of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic? It would have a better ending than in Season 9, the characters would be less flanderized and that'll be cool.

Personally, I don't think it would have made much of a difference. Flanderization has been an issue on certain characters much earlier. If not for all the 'more pony' goodness, I would have ended the cartoon with 3. But since subsequent seasons added so much more to the worldbuilding, I think it was worth it to continue all the way to season 8.
Nine was the only one that made me quit the cartoon.

Fair enough. Seasons 4-7 were good imo but not as great as Seasons 1-3.

Wouldn’t have been good, but it couldn’t have gotten any worse.

As far as I'm concerned, the G4 series ended with the 2017 movie. Excluding a few select episodes that don't involve the friendship school or the royal sisters' pointless retirement, the last two seasons are nothing but a seriously twisted pipe dream to me...
