This is a group for discussing and collecting stories about the Woodhead Route, a 41 mile railway that ran from Manchester to Sheffield via Penistone and Deepcar, crossing the Pennines via the Woodhead Tunnel. Now sadly long since closed, it is very popular amongst railway enthusiasts to this day, and may even reopen.
