So I've been watching Persona 4 and gotten halfway through the series. I don't follow the series, but I did see a playthrough of Persona 5.

So I ask you guys... are the main Persona games pretty much the same game? Seriously, Persona 4 is starting to come across as the first draft of Persona 5. Recently transferred teenager, otherworld with oversimplify animal mascot, overexaggerated faculty member getting killed the same way through different methods, Igor and the velvet room, and of course the teens changing into alt based on themselves (but I'm suspecting that last one is pretty much the theme with these games).
