Question: the gods and the power of Faith is unambiguously, unquestionably and demonstrably real in this universe. Does that mean that, to a certain extent, religion can become a science and previous religious schisms over doctrine can be undone simply by asking the deity or Saint in question? Sorry if this has already been answered.

The issue is how belief and deities interact. It's not a one-way road. Belief shapes gods shape belief, and a large enough schism can redefine the essence of a god. Possibly even fracture one if the different beliefs are completely irreconcilable. This is one of the reasons why Sunset insists she isn't a god and doesn't offer her worshipers any special treatment as compared to the rest of humanity. Being a god is dangerous business.

Also, trying to scientifically analyze godhood usually goes even worse than trying to analyze Pinkie Pie. Applied theology rarely if ever ends well.

Are we talking about the same universe? I'm pretty sure Sunset would have a permanent hand-shaped bruise on her face if she wasn't basically a god. There are NUMEROUS stories in this 'verse dedicated to her devotees' shenanigans.

I wasn't really implying that Sunset *wasn't* a goddess in all but name, I was more referring to the existence of such gods and goddesses as Ishtar, Innana, Thor, Odhinn, Zeus, Aphrodite, and perhaps more importantly, Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, Ganesh, Amaterasu, Susanoo, Papa Legba, Baron Samedi, Pele, the Tuatha de Dannan, and the Orishas. The mere transference of belief regarding the characteristics of Vishnu almost reshaped Sunset herself by accident.

As such, I'd expect places like the Japanese Bureau of Onmyō to reopen, for Wiccan Covens and Asatru to suddenly have a much larger place in society, whatever the equivalent of the Vatican and the remnants of the Knights Templar/Hospitaller to have regular meetings with Sunset, and so on.

Perhaps the yogi, guru and various temples of the major polytheist religions would suddenly have a lot more relevance even to die-hard atheists and agnostics, as rakhasha, ifrit, akuryou, mogwai, and other once-mythical malevolent spirits return to a magic-saturated world from Faerie, and this time half-remembered old wives' tales alone won't cut it without some help from holy water, juju, mojo and omamori.

So for instance, at one point Venus was Aphrodite who in turn was Ishtar, the Queen of the Dawn. Eventually the War Goddess aspects were shed and the Fertility Goddess aspects were emphasized and refined. Would that mean that Ishtar, Aphrodite and Venus would be different beings, and that perhaps Odhinn of Iceland would be completely different from Mr Wednesday of America? And how about the ancient malevolent and benevolent spirits of old, from the sock gnomes to the rakhasha and ifrit and djinn and you Kai, would they be creatures of Faerie, or something completely different? How would places like Yama and Diyu be manifested, or would those just be "misunderstandings and old stories"?
