Back in 1966, executives believed that live-action movies based on comic books had to be campy. For they 1966-Batman, the cast Mister William "Adam" West Anderson. Mister William "Adam" West Anderson realized that we would have to take his role seriously, or else, the show would be a laughing stock, would loose its audience, be cancelled, and quickly forgotten, like all of the other shows which lasted less than a season. ¡Mister William "Adam" West Anderson owned that role! "West said that he played Batman 'for laughs, but in order to do [that], one had to never think it was funny. You just had to pull on that cowl and believe that no one would recognize you.'" The TV-Series lasted from 1966 to 1968 (3 seasons), with 120 episodes and a movie in 1966.

Without Mister William "Adam" West Anderson showing that live-action Batman was doable, and showing the necessity of playing Batman straight, the Batman-Movies of Mister Tim Burton probably would not exist. We own Mister William "Adam" West Anderson a debt of gratitude.

I feel bad for not having any strong feelings towards West

He was definitely a better Batman than Val Kilmer and George Clooney. RIP :fluttershysad:

Before you blame Misters Val Kilmer and George Clooney for playing bad Batmen, you should remember that the director, Mister Joel Schumacher, ordered the actors to do everything over-the-top, with neither nuance nor subtlety on the set of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. When actors complained, he went on about the movie being a live-action cartoon, so the actors must act cornily. The actors, being under contract, had to follow his direction. Both Misters Val Kilmer and George Clooney publically apologized for those movies.

It is not fair to say that Misters Val Kilmer and George Clooney are terrible Batmen under all possible circumstances; if they would be Batmen under the direction of Mister Tim Burton or Mister Christopher Nolan, they might be the best Batmen, or they still might be the worst Batmen. We just do not know.

Yes I know that it was Joel Schumacher's fault to why both Val Kilmer and George Clooney's Batmans sucked.

¡That honest trailer is not honest at all!:

The trailer is entertaining, but the movies is the opposite of entertaining! :scootangel:

Seriously, that is 1 honest trailer. Mister Joel Schumacher had no idea what he did; he was totally incompetent.
