According to THIS, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just become the highest-grossing movie of all time in North America, dethroning the long-time champion, Avatar. Currently, Avatar remains on top globally, while Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still only number four, but Episode VII has yet to open in China (Jan. 9), so I have a feeling it'll only be a matter of time.
