My guess was way off. :) Tianhuo is a "Longma", a horse-dragon hybrid. These guys look to be the resident Proud Warrior Race, although I don't know how that works in a world which is supposed to be peaceful. She looks pretty badass. Her thing is flying, speed, and fire magic.

Though, I was on the right train of thought when I said that it was fire-related. I just wasn't sure what type of chinese creature would fit that description.
