402283 I actually plan on being a drug addict 40 to 60 years in the future. If happiness is the goal of life, than drugs are the best way to achieve that. Not if there is a long term, though. On the long term scale, drugs decrease the sum of happiness.

It's like being allowed to go to Heaven for one day. When you come back to the bleak Earth, your only thought is that you want to go back. If you find out that there is, in fact, a way to go back, you'll do whatever it takes to get more of it.
All other things just vane in comparison to how the drug can make you feel. They become non-important.
It’s not the drug that ruins lives. Drug addicts are still the same people they used to be. Only their view shifts, making the drug the most important thing in their life because it’s the only thing in their lives that can make them feel that good.
402276 But when the addiction comes in, it drive people to do things they never would have done in their lives just for a taste or smoke of it. It is sad to see people with a drug addiction because it drives greed and madness in men for what ever it may be that they need. Even if they have to kill or steal just to get it. Alas, it destroys relationships and leaves permanent scars onto the user's families. At the same time, it's killing your body one way or another just as much as his or her addiction is for the his or her drug of choice. At the end, he or she needing the drugs daily just to stop the withdrawal symptoms to be normal around people. Now people that have been using it don't use it for getting high, just to stop the pains of withdrawal. People believe that it gives pleasure being high. But as soon as you take it, your in it's death cold grasp of entering a road that only leads to a slow, painful life that is near impossible to get out of. My shot message for drugs? Drugs are a contract that promises a way out and when you sigh it, your in that contract for life. And you will forever pay the prices that takes your body, mind, and soul down with it to a road that leads to your life to hell.
The problem with drugs isn't that they are bad. The problem is that they are good. Nothing in life can make you feel as you feel when you're high. That's where the devious addiction comes in. How can you stop doing something that feels so good?
