So, while the primary function of this group is to have fun, there are still a few ground rules that need to be noted. The rules are to be obeyed fully, and failure to do so will result in a warning, followed by a one day ban, followed again by a permaban. The guidelines are just strong suggestions, and don't need to be followed to the letter.

Rules

1. Site rules still apply. Meaning, no NSFW images or links, no harassing other users etc.

2. Don't spam. This means posting the same OC over and over again, flooding the forum with discussion threads, or posting a lot of unnecessary threads. Promoting stories , whether you wrote them or not, counts as spam. You can link to an OC's story in your thread, but making threads specifically for promotions counts as spam.

3. You may not post threads unrelated to MLP. Threads unrelated to OCs are fine, but those threads must be related to MLP or they will be locked.

4. We're not your blog. If you've just written a new story or whatever, this isn't the place to post about it. There are other groups for that. This also isn't the place to explain why you think Luna is best pony, or why you haven't written anything recently. Put that in your own personal blog.

5. Personal attacks on others are strictly forbidden. You can poke fun at an OC all you want and as harshly as you want, but once you start insulting the user who posted that OC, you're in deep trouble. Users found to be breaking that rule will have the first warning skipped, and will instead receive a one day ban immediately.

Guidelines

1. Remember, people here aren't obligated to be nice to you. If they think your OC is terrible, they have absolutely no responsibility to spare your feelings. Responding in a bratty manner won't win you any awards, and neither will harsh criticism be considered grounds for harassment by the admins here. If, however, the people offering the criticism begin insulting you personally, then you may approach an admin (see rule 5).

2. Certain characters don't sit well with others. If you just came up with a character named Killmurder Deathslaughter, who is a black and red alicorn who also happens to be Celestia and Luna's brother, and the boyfriend of all of the mane six, as well as the seventh Element of Harmony, chances are that's not going to fly. You might want to re-evaluate that character.

3. Tagging what format your OC is suited for might help other people to understand it better. For example, a character who works well in a roleplaying setting might not work as well in a story. Since this is a writing site, chances are that without specification, people will assume the OC in question is for a story, meaning some characters may be judged more harshly than they should be.

4. Images are always helpful, even if they're just pony creator images. They help people to better understand the character's appearance, which can have a big impact on how people perceive the character.

5. Have fun! This group isn't meant to be a very serious one. Just a place where you can hear the opinions of others on the characters you've created. Once you stop having fun, you've stopped using the group for its intended purpose.

If you feel something is amiss, don't hesitate to contact an admin so we can sort it out sooner. We won't bite, don't worry.
