Starlight's rehabilitation is going horribly: no one wants anything to do with her and she keeps reverting to her old ways (trying to mess with two ponies' minds to stop their arguing). Ponies are mad at Twilight for letting her off so easy, the Mane 5 admit they think Twilight's being naïve about reforming Starlight, Twilight admits she shouldn't have tried sweeping Starlight's past under the rug, and even Starlight admits she's amazed that she hasn't received any punishment. Eventually, the ponies complain to Celestia directly and Celestia reaches a compromise: Starlight will not be harmed in any way but she will be permanently banished from Equestria and have her magic severely diminished. Starlight leaves the Mane 6 in peace, saying there was no way she could ever redeem herself in Equestria's eyes and that somewhere else she'll be able to redeem herself in some small way.
